Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I would change the sentence that "For the Money Bautista is going to get, I'd want him back". Would you give him 3/60? If not what's your limit?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 What do ppl think of Romo as a BP arm? What kind of deal is he going to command? Not sure he is allowed back in Canada after that WBC fight, but he's been a solid BP arm.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Would you give him 3/60? If not what's your limit? I'd do 3/50.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I'd do 3/50. I'd still only do that if he accepts he's no longer an outfielder. Which tbf he might. Expecting someone to give him more though, either in years or money.

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 19, 2016 Author Posted November 19, 2016 Cecil leaving for STL leaves Aaron Loup as the only lefty in the pen for next year. Would like to see Jerry Blevins or Boone Logan brought in. Possibly JP Howell.

It's a really bad year to be looking for a lefty. There are a lot of RH relievers available, but not lefties. If the Blevins, Logan, and Howell markets get up near 20M, we're probably out, and rightfully so.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Though I agree that I can't see us making a trade for McCutchen, Upton can play CF as can Pompey, if we lost Pillar and didn't directly replace him. For the money Bautista wants, I wouldn't want him back. The way the market is shaping up, I'd bring back Jose to play 1B in a heartbeat. I think is possible that he's a steal if the market doesn't jump up here.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Just sign a bunch of failed starters with strikeout stuff

Considering we already have a DH, and even playing 1B you'd want to rest Bautista from the field every now and then, anything more than 3 years and/or approaching $20m AAV isn't worth it IMO.

I agree, hard to tell what the market actually is, but I don't see anyone offering more than that at this point, especially with a pick attached.

I think he'll be offered at least 3/60 (if he hasn't already). But he could easily reject that thinking he'll get more, and then have to settle for less. Ideal situation - he resigns on a 1 year deal for less than the QO ala Ian Desmond last year.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Joyce, Beltran, Bautista, Gomez, Cespedes, Desmond, Saunders, Rasmus, Pagan And available in trades - Bruce, McCutchen, Gardner, Braun, Kemp, Jay etc.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Anyone think the Dbacks would be dumb and sell low on Patrick Corbin? He was really good as a RP last year.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Rumour mills says White Sox may make certain players available. so.. What about bring Melky Cabrera back. Cost? Opinion? Melky is a terrible fielder. He'd be more interesting as a DH, but we have Morales. Bringing Lawrie back could be interesting if we were to turn him into a super util guy. He can play pretty much every position in a pinch, and would provide nice protection at 3B and 2B. I see no reason he couldn't be average to above average in the OF and 1B too. I'd love to buy lowish on Abreu.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Lawrie and Donaldson in the same clubhouse. It needs to happen.

BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I kind of wish instead of signing Morales they had traded for Melky Cabrera. At least he can play some LF. And he won't clog the base paths like lead footed Morales. He'd be a really nice number 2 hitter.
