Jason Castro is a really good pitch framer. Not a bad bat against right handers. He might want a better opportunity for playing time though. A trade is probably our best option.

 

Rene Rivera isn't a bad backup option either. He isn't as great as Castro but could be cheaper and accept a backup role.

I agree. This team has been fun to watch when they're at their best and offense is hot but they definitely seem like they need more dynamic hitters.

The worst case scenario for giving Bautista the QO is he comes back for one year at $17M.

 

That would actually benefit the team, not hurt them.

 

Bautista is getting the QO, and he should.
