They could have some kind of facial recognition software or something (no idea if they do). I would imagine it would be more along the lines of, if you get caught attending, you'd be hit with trespassing along with various fines.

What if he hit him with it? I don't see how you could NOT charge him with assault then. It seems somewhat reasonable that throwing at, but missing, could be considered attempted assault. There'd be no other target or reason for him to throw the can, really.

 

Anyhow, I'm fine with him being made an example of, even if the punishment seems a bit harsh. That kind of nonsense should never happen, period. It's dangerous. The lifetime ban is definitely warranted imo. The only argument should be the necessity of an attempted assault charge.

No the dome does not have any technology of that sort, not sure if it's used anywhere in North America. Now overseas is a different story, due to violence at soccer games it's pretty wide spread.

p.s i don't go into a pub and pound 2-3 beers. I am talking about a normal social place where you have 2-3 beers over the course of 2-3 hours..

I'm pretty happy with putting the guy on blast. I couldn't care less what the Police or Rogers Centre do now. When you do stupid things there are consequences, sometimes those consequences are worse than the act. Right now this guy is hated in his own city, because he did something stupid (and then lied about it). It's up to him to do something good to make it right...also might stop the next idiot. I'd like to see those chanting racist s*** put on blast too.

In this environment it could be tough, especially when the union gets involved. The idiot who yelled at the reporter at the TFC game, while initially fired, got his job back in arbitration. If this was someone in management in the private sector, yes they could easily be fired on the spot.

It happened. Front row of 200 level just above was yelling stupid things about throwing fried chicken at Jones. Same guys were things yelled at Kim the final game of the season from the same section (which were extra ignorant as they were Chinese comments).

Nobody cares that it was a beer can. He could've thrown a teddy bear and people would still want this guy banned for life and made an example of. It's about holding the fans to a higher standard and upholding the integrity of the game. That s*** just can't happen, period.
