Waylanderz Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Time for the Jays to put a knockout punch on the Rangers this Sunday.
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Jays -185 at pinnacle to take it down on Sunday. I have tix to game 3 of the ALCS. If Jays and Indians win I'm selling them and going to Cleveland for the weekend.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 omg lol we're facing Colby "bunting is bush league!" Lewis on Sunday? how the hell did Texas win 95 games? People didn't believe me when I said their -1 RD post August was a red flag, I'm telling y'all this team ain't s*** When you're winning games by 1 you're supposed to have months like our September, agonizing. They put up the best 1 run W/L record and the lowest RD for a team with 95 wins since the O's posted one time with a +65 or something. This team is flukey as f***, shakey defence and ok bats. They one up us in the OF with Choo but I'll take our infield over theirs any day of the week.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 David Price, 2016 Salary - $30 million JA Happ + Marco Estrada + Aaron Sanchez + Marcus Stroman, 2016 Salary - ~$22 million. #BlueJays This is my favorite fact I repeat it all the time when talking to other fans Edit: wait, isn't it 27M?
admin Site Manager Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Jays dominating and Red Sox getting destoryed, what a great feeling.

admin Site Manager Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 On opening day next season? Postseason Grant. Don't you have some complaining about instant replay to do?
Josh Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 This series is not over yet. Jays lost the first two games last year before coming back to win the series

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Postseason Grant. Don't you have some complaining about instant replay to do? He probably won't be pitching again until next year. Sorry to hurt your feelings red sox fanboy.
Slugger Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 This series is not over yet. Jays lost the first two games last year before coming back to win the series While that is true, let's also not ignore it's only happened 3 times in Wild Card era, aaaaand that we faced Lewis and Perez in Game 3-4, and the Rangers are getting Sanchez and Stroman. I'm not counting my chickens, but the situation is different.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 He probably won't be pitching again until next year. Sorry to hurt your feelings red sox fanboy. Only if they force a game 5
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Travis injured again? Seems to happen a lot
BlueJaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 If the situation called for it in Game 3 should Gibbons forget about bringing in a left handed pitcher to face a left handed hitter? Cecil was brought in to pitch against Odor and walked him on 4 straight pitches. Later on as we all know he brought in Francisco Liriano to face Moreland, who was lucky enough to get a double since it went off Edwin's glove and would have been foul had he not went for it. Still those are two examples of that match up not working, because in the Liriano example I would have left Grilli in the game.
brb321 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 What is everyone's thoughts about winning the series early. Don't get me wrong, I want a Jays sweep. But my concern is the level of momentum we have built over the last week by playing and winning almost everyday. My concern is if the Jays sweep, the ALCS isn't scheduled until Friday. That is a lot of time to be sitting around, like the Mets last year going into WS. Does rest kill momentum? Maybe Cleveland will also sweep and point will be moot...

You want the Jays to lose a few games and then win a game for momentum. This makes absolutely no sense.

You don't have the luxury to worry about these things. You want to finish off any opponent, especially one as talented as TEX, as soon as possible period.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 My biggest concern right now is the bullpen. Osuna for me is still iffy and who knows the diagnosis on Liriano. Will Benoit be back for the ALCS? Edit: never mind Barry Davis says that Liriano's been cleared to rejoin the team

Will Benoit be back for the ALCS? Edit: never mind Barry Davis says that Liriano's been cleared to rejoin the team BP is fine, and there should be enough rest that we can really push our main core. I highly doubt Benoit goes from crutches to pitching in a week. Cecil, Grilli, Osuna, Biagini, Liriano is more than enough to carry you.

I highly doubt Benoit goes from crutches to pitching in a week. Cecil, Grilli, Osuna, Biagini, Liriano is more than enough to carry you. Cecil is again a big concern. His last 2 appearances he has been brought in to get Chris Davis and another LHH yesterday. He has thrown 8 balls all away on pitches getting no swings walking both. The rest will be ok. Never thought I'd miss Benoit so much. Liriano didn't have his slider at all yesterday. Rough outing. Hope he can bounce back.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I'd give Cecil one more chance. I agree with this. None of the left handed pitchers are ultra reliable at the moment. Loup is also on the roster and at this point it could be worth using him as a LOOGY. Use Liriano and Cecil alternately if you need more than one out.

The time off we'll get if we win game 3 will be a huge benefit giving the dinged up players time to recover. Rested healthy experienced players won't need much motivation with the big prize in sight. As far as having a bit of time off is concerned, that usually only affects the offence. In a seven game series, combined with our stating pitching, the offence will be able to recalibrate without hurting our chances.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Let's lose the next 2 games so that the series can go back to Texas for a one game coin flip just so in case the Jays advance they can stay sharp for the next series? Yeah, no thanks. You can't control when the games are played. Just go out there and win.
