burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Over 2500 tickets still left on stubhub, prices will have to come down. Sold over 800 tickets in the last 3 hours. Chance the market actually goes higher. I woke up early and got 4 in the 100 level outfield for around 175 each CDN which looks like a smart decision.

I priced mine at $140 USD each in Sec 243, and they sold that night. They aren't selling for that much higher, and with people putting up insane prices to begin with, I guess they won't sell their tickets.

There are likely several hundred tickets still available on stubhub that have been acquired by scalpers that have no intention going to the game. Some of the prices are laughable and they will not sell imo. People arent spending $800 on a pair of tickets that cost $250.

I dont mind sitting there but Ill still leave it a little later and see what comes up.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Remember that if you are waiting, you cannot scan on your phone. You need to print it out. And the Fed Ex store on Blue Jays and Front closes at 6:30.

Last year, there was an optional refund for unplayed games. This year, they "automatically" apply it as a credit to your season ticket purchase. How lucky for you! Even if you aren't a season ticket buyer. Now you are. See how that works? WTF? Nice to see a little success isn't going to Jays managements heads..I hope that isn't true, if it is..what a bunch of greedy f***s!

You can pay 5$ to have them printed at the Intercontinental on Front or even pay $10 to have them printed at the Hotel Lobby of the one inside the stadium.

I think it went down then went back up. I imagine it being nice outside has inflated the market a little as well as casuals realizing its the "place to be"

If you are going to wait you may as well wait it out right until 8 but if you see something you like, you should probably go for it. I was going to do the same as you. I'm pretty lucky I pulled the trigger when I did.

Even if you aren't a season ticket buyer. Now you are. See how that works? That's not true, if the games are not played you get your money back. Directly from the Blue Jays ticket Q&A Q. When the Postseason ends can I request a refund instead of a credit for unplayed games? Yes. If you would prefer to have a refund instead of a credit towards your 2017 Season Tickets purchase, please notify the Club by contacting your Account Executive before 5:00 pm on November 16, 2016. After this date, a refund will not be available.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Honestly I just can't stand the fact that StubHub doesn't cater to Canadians and that it's so easy to get suckered in. $150 tickets might look nice at first and then become $180 after fees and then $240 after dollar exchange and you don't usually see that until your CC bill comes.

Also if your credit card charges you a "foreign" conversion fee add another $10 on top of that, little tip if anyone here travels/buys things in different currencies look at the amazon by chase card for Canadians, no annual fee and you get $20 for every 2000 points and no conversion fees which is awesome.

Pack some food and bring it in if you can, but yeah beer and such adds up really fast.

Yup I'm planning on going 10 beers deep tonight. I didn't drink at all the last few games I went to. This is a playoff game, so f*** it.
clambake Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Ended up with 5 pairs before they clinched. 2 from 2 pairs of seasons, 1 pair for from the Flex Pack sale and 2 additional during the general sale. Sold 4 pairs and that more than covered tonight ALMOST scooped up another 5 tickets in 117 this morning before I was beat out by someone else.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Screw it staying home...it's not the tickets...it's everything after that. Bought myself a case of beer invited some friends...pizza and wings. Cheaper then just BEER at the game

Cheaper then just BEER at the game My buddy and I have tickets to the playoffs again this year like last year but skipped on the Wild Card. Same with you, we're drinking beers in the West End and then heading downtown to meet up with friends that are going to the game if the Jays win if they don't win it, it will be a sad drunk late night run/gym sesh.

I imagine it being nice outside has inflated the market a little as well as casuals realizing its the "place to be" You can get pairs in the 500 level for around $110 USD, though I'm sure people would rather spend an extra couple of bucks for the better seats. Inventory right now is pretty limited, and you probably saw a $20-30 bump over the last hour since they just announced the roof will be open, so it'll be a nice night. Some prices are ridiculous and I doubt anyone pays them. Still glad I sold my pair, since I don't have to worry/stress out about selling them before game time.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Im getting nervous now, my plan probably isnt going to work, just have to get something I like soon. If you can get outfield seats in the 200 level or 100 level for $150-$160, take them. You can probably get infield seats at around $200 USD or a bit more, though when fee's and conversion rate are all in, you're looking at $550 CAD or more.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 FYI, you can scan your tickets off your phone if you bought the originals off Ticketmaster during the general sale. Just make sure to download it into your passbook (iPhone users), so it appears in your passbook/wallet to scan.

I literally realized that 5min before getting my ticket scanned in line last postseason when I had a momentary freakout because I forgot my printed ticket at home. Opened the app clicked the game and it was right there. Was sweating bullets for a couple minutes.

Worst case you go to the box office and they can print it out for you if you were the original purchaser.

Do you get updates when more tickets are released on ticketmaster? I looked about 30 times today on ticketmaster and nothing was ever available.
