Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Why didn't Dae Ho Lee translate when the pitching coach came out to Iwakuma, instead of making the translator come out of the dugout? (Just a joke don't ban me please.) I almost made a fool out of myself responding to this post seriously.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Possibly, but you never know, maybe Iwakuma is just comfortable with his translator. I mean that's what his translator is being paid to do so may as well make himself useful. He's been here five years though, should have a solid grasp on the language by now.

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Man Crosby talks like a weirdo. So do all Texans. All of them.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 He's been here five years though, should have a solid grasp on the language by now. Some people never learn.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 He's been here five years though, should have a solid grasp on the language by now. You must not live in Toronto, I have friends that were born here but their parents are from other parts of the world and they have lived here for 30+ years yet refuse to learn the English language, so disrespectful, why even show up to the party people.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 Also, we are assuming that Dae-ho Lee knows English. Also true.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 So do all Texans. All of them. Depends on where you're from but I agree, I shut mine down pretty good unless I am drunk then I start saying "rouff" and "y'all"
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Wtf is tabby talking about, he's such a f***ing moron.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Some people never learn. That's true, and I'm not one to get all up on arms when an average person doesn't want to bother acclimating, but when it comes to a team sport it should be a requirement.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Also, we are assuming that Dae-ho Lee knows English. I'd assume he's at least learned how to order fast food

If I moved to the Czech Republic I would learn that language after 5 years trust.

It's not really a requirement in a sport like baseball though.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 Let's go pillar Josh Donaldson?

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 This new Jays team is making me so happy, taking pitches for balls, going the other way *runs to Yonge street to get my spot in line for the World Series parade*
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Let's go pillar Hi Thole.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 It's not really a requirement in a sport like baseball though. Probably less so than other sports, agreed. I'd still much prefer a locker room free of language barriers myself.
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 Hi Thole. Josh Phelps?
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Let's go pillar Towers?
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Probably less so than other sports, agreed. I'd still much prefer a locker room free of language barriers myself. Sounds like you spend too much time in the men's locker room.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Sounds like you spend too much time in the men's locker room. Well they keep throwing me out of the other one
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Josh Phelps? Josh Johnson is a big Blue Jays fan. Could be Josh Beckett but he's probably fist deep in a box of chicken m
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 From the Mariners subreddit hahah "I arrived as gates opened and all I saw around me was a sea of blue. Parking attendants, security lines, concessions, ticket helpers - they all had a comment on how nice it was to see a Mariners fan. This continued as I walked into the stadium and was overwhelmed by an enormous amount of 20 year old Drake inspired Torontoians engulfing the stadium. Section 341, Row 13, I took my seat and watched the stadium fill. Before I knew it there was no Mariners fans around me, everywhere was that Blue Jay's Blue and Canadian accents. I've never see Safeco so electric, and was a little disappointed that it was for a team other than the Mariners. The most amazing part of the night had to be when the anthems were performed. The entire stadium was singing the Canadian national anthem and roaring as loud as I've heard it in sometime at Safeco, I knew I was in for a long night. All I could do was PRAY the Mariners put one on the board to quite this crowd down. I knew deep down we would get the bats going. Taijuan was pitching (somewhat) well, aside from some early walks. It became clear to me though the bats would not get going... Sometimes you can just tell with this Mariners team by the 3rd or 4th that tonight just isn't the night! Praying, Praying, Praying, Encarnacion jacked a two run blast out of the park. Everyone rose to their feet, everyone besides me. High 5's, beer spilling, screams and laughs. I felt so small, people were high fiving over me and trying to give me a high five with my Mariners hat on. It was a crazy experience and truly felt like I was the away team. I don't know exactly why I am writing this other than to recap an absolutly wild night. I knew the Canadians would come out, but I didn't expect them to fill OUR stadium like that in the middle of a playoff push. If the Mariners won last night and quieted that crowd, I would have been 100% confident we are playoff ready."
