Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Yeah, other MLB stadiums like at AT&T or Citi Field, you could buy off StubHub and scan in using a electronic ticket. Shocked the Jays haven't done that yet, especially since you scan in with e-tickets if bought from the official Blue Jays site on TM. I'd say the majority of people got in with their phones at U.S. Cellular Field (soon to be Guaranteed Rate Field lol).
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Attendance was 35K btw. What terrible fans we have... We we had the 2nd highest total in the AL behind Fenway (who were hosting the O's, I'd say if we hosted any AL East team other than the stinkin Rays we'd have a higher #), BurlingtonBandit made it sound like only 18K were gonna show up lol

If they up the prices but don't up their basic technology I'll be pissed. I also hope that some of the money that they receive gets reinvested in the Dome or stashed away for a new stadium down the line. The fanbase shows that if we win we come, so might as well improve the stadium and make it look more like 2016 and less than 1992
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Dickey was originally slated and it's a Monday school night vs the Rays. 35K is a phenomenal turnout. You make it sound that Dickey was a big factor, we're playing the Rays! That's a ticket to watch a loss given our s***** luck against them. I bet if a tougher team like Detroit or even Cleveland our attendance would be hire, but it's the Rays. We're all tired of them. Thankfully the season series is ending in 2 days, Wednesday's game will probably be a season low -- Wednesday school afternoon game against the Rays lol
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I bought mine before I left home around 6 PM, Sec 127, Row 23. Nice seats, won't complain. Also, had a $10 Stubhub coupon, so only ended up paying $17 USD for the seat. Still can't believe premium infield seats are going that cheap. It was a beautiful night for baseball. Might even go again on Tuesday or Wednesday if I could grab a seat at the same price. As I was walking to the dome, there's a guy on the bridge (John Street side) who had a portable computer/printer and was charging $5 per sheet of paper printed. Never saw that before. https://www.amazon.ca/Canon-Wireless-Printer-Lithium-ion-battery/dp/B00O524KXW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473776783&sr=8-1&keywords=portable+printer Won't take long to break even

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 No way, lol. Yeah was shocked. Wondering if anyone else has seen him in the past before games? Seriously, you can make some good cash at $5 per sheet.

The fanbase shows that if we win we come, so might as well improve the stadium and make it look more like 2016 and less than 1992 I think it's a deal that the ball club has to have with StubHub in order to allow that. The Jays already have the technology, since you can scan in with your phone via the Ticketmaster app or download an e-ticket if you purchase a ticket through the Jays site. Not every ballpark in the U.S. offers that scan in feature off StubHub (for e.g. Yankee Stadium from what I recall).
admin Site Manager Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Souza agreed with Martin’s version of the events that unfolded but said that Tulowitzki was a bit out of hand. “He just maybe said some stuff below the belt that I’m not going to repeat,” Souza said. “We'll leave it on the field. “They’re trying to win a pennant, I’m not going to hold it against him.” All in all turned out well by both sides. Imagine it was Odor or KC, would have been a brawl and someone from the Jays would have been hit today.

Im virtually positive that teams that have deals with stubhub get a small percentage of the ticket sales for their games. Considering how many people buy and sell from there it could be a good way add a little extra revenue

Lol Souza should just shut up, it's not like he walked up to Martin and asked for an explanation, he turned around and started barking at Martin because he thought he was getting chirped at. You could see the reaction from Osuna and Martin as well when it first happened, they had a "wtf is your problem?" face, Tulo was not out of line for defending his players -- Souza if he truly misheard him and wanted to avoid drama should have walked up to martin and asked him to repeat what he said, idk why he felt a certain way from Tulo lol
JoeCarter Verified Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 "according to Statcast™, every previous ball hit with the velocity and launch angle of Souza's at Rogers Centre this year had been a home run." Er...what am I missing, then: other than wind conditions, shouldn't exit velocity + launch angle literally be all that's needed to calculate the distance a ball will travel? IOW, is the only reason it didn't leave the yard b/c of the part of the ballpark it was hit to? (whereas all the previous balls hit with those #s were hit to shorter parts of the yard?)

"Excuse me sir, can you insult me again?"

Never saw that before. Lol, i live close to the Dome and had this exact idea last year, but ran #'s and seemed like it was way more trouble than it was worth. Thought I could bring in $100 / day at very most, which hey I guess is not bad money for 2 hrs of my time, but i just let it go. Also I'm like 95% sure that I've purchased tix off StubHub, and run my phone under the ticket scanner at the gate and it worked fine, just as if I'd run a printed sheet under. And the stadium staff seemed fine with me doing that, so not sure why they say you MUST have printed tix... (don't quote me on the above; i could be mis-remembering, but i really don't think so)
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 What do you think the appropriate reaction is to someone who's talking s*** to you? "Excuse me sir, can you insult me again?" What? No I'm exactly with you, I have no problem with what Souza did -- I'd do the same. But you missed the 2nd part of my post, why does he have a problem with Tulo doing what he did? You're telling me if someone is barking at your teammate you're not going to get in his face and tell him to shut the f*** up? Of course you would, that too is a natural reaction. I just think he's playing the victim card a little much

The ball travelled apr. 395 feet... which would of been enough for a homer if it had been pulled at all. So my understanding is it was just a 395 foot fly ball hit to the wrong spot... Or should of it travelled 415 feet?? and god stopped if just cuz God actually listens when Osuna prays.

And I guess the words he chose lol.

JoJo Parker Dunedin Blue Jays - A SS On Tuesday, Parker was just 1-for-5, but the one hit was his first professional home run. Explore JoJo Parker News >
