AttaBoy Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Pretty plain and simple question. Now that the division is tied (can't see Red Sox losing tonight TBH). Let's get a consensus here. Do you think we will win the division? The way I see it.... Red Sox hitting is better than the Blue Jays, let's be honest about this one Red Sox starting pitching is better than the Blue Jays, because of the addition of Pomeranz and regression of our staff Red Sox bullpen is slightly worse than the Blue Jays Neither team has any significant injuries at this time. Blue Jays remaining schedule: -13 home games, 14 away games -5 games vs s***** teams (Angels (4) and Rays (1)) -Equal number of home/away games vs Red Sox (6) Red Sox remaining schedule: -10 home games, 17 away games -4 games vs s***** teams (Padres (3) and Athletics (1)) -3 game vs Blue Jays away, 3 games vs Blue Jays away -Equal number of home/away games vs Blue Jays (6) Definitely like our schedule better so I say this is going to be a tight finish but who knows.
admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 If you asked two days ago it would have been 90% yes. Today, probably not. Red Sox have a good team. I said a month or two ago I could see them winning a WS in the next couple years. I wouldn't be shocked if they did it this year. When your manager puts Travis in the #9 spot, Navarro as DH, and is terrible with the BP, who knows what place we'll end up.

Fastball21 Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 This team is still more than capable of winning the whole thing we're just discombobulated right now, if we can get it together no one can touch us.
AttaBoy Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 By the way, don't be homers and vote 'yes' without any logical reasoning...
admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 By the way, don't be homers and vote 'yes' without any logical reasoning... Well we've been the best team in baseball for the last 3.5 months, a lot of that time without Bautista. That could be reason enough?
Plat Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Not with the way they're playing right now
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I would say yes since the Sox have more road games to go through and I like our starting pitching better.
Plat Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Well we've been the best team in baseball for the last 3.5 months lol no

admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 lol no Go look at the standings instead of embarrassing yourself.

sawyerford Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Yup. Better pitching and we have a better bullpen. Red Sox offence is inconsistent as well and have a AWFUL bullpen and a terrible manager.
Plat Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Go look at the standings instead of embarrassing yourself. Do you really think they are better than the Cubs? stop being a homer
sawyerford Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Do you really think they are better than the Cubs? stop being a homer He never said that lol
admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Do you really think they are better than the Cubs? stop being a homer We have been the best team in baseball = best record in baseball in the last 3.5 months. That's not being a homer you moron. When two posts earlier I say I wouldn't be shocked if the Red Sox win the WS... I don't think that's being a homer.
Plat Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 He never said that lol He said the Jays have been the best baseball team the last 3 months

I would be SUPER shocked if the Red Sox won the WS with that dumpster fire bullpen.
admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 You should have said that then you idiot I didn't know you were too f***ing dumb to comprehend that. I'm aware the Cubs have a good team, thanks for pointing it out.

Declaring the Jays being the best team in baseball and having the best record in a span of 3 months are two different things you f***ing meathead
admin Site Manager Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Declaring the Jays being the best team in baseball and having the best record in a span of 3 months are two different things you f***ing meathead Saying we were the best team in baseball over the past 3.5 months because we have the best record in baseball over that time is really a stretch? So much that you say "lol no"? And say I'm a Homer for saying that? lol Don't be upset when you look like a fool because you had no idea our record was that good.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 We'll lose the division, the wildcard game, and somehow Gibbons will keep his job for another year regardless. Meanwhile, the Red Sox will pull another fluke championship out of their ass and we'll all have to put up with smug Boston fans for another year.
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 To be honest, I want them to miss the postseason and Gibby and other coaching staffs (including Jacoby, Walker) should get fired at the end of the season.

I don't think Gibby will keep his job if they don't make it to the postseason or exit early in October. I think Eric Wedge (who was hired by Shapiro as a player developement advisor) has very high chance of becoming a manager after Gibby.. I don't wanna see Gibby in the dugout anymore
