Did he pay his dues last year? Yes. He's no longer coming out of nowhere in the eyes of the voters. They know he's not a fluke now

 

Kiermaier having an off year and missing time

 

You can't give it to Trout as consolation for not winning MVP if he loses that to Donaldson - he hasn't been good enough defensively

 

Pillar passes the eye test AND has the stats. By a HUGE margin.

 

Seems like a shoo-in this year.

Probably, but a shame Kiermaier has played in only half the games KP has.

Keirmaier did it last season.

 

True.

 

Haven't seen as many highlight reel catches from Pillar this year.

 

Also, voters may be inclined to reward Desmond for the excellent season he is having.

Only if by the end of the year KK UZR/150 exceeds KP than I'd say it's a shame he didn't play enough games for a fair shot. Until then....

Voters might not like those 4 errors! Even though he gets to way more Baseball's resulting in more plays and more throws. Yes he should win it in a land slide. His only competition missed half the season.

3rd and 4th links are for 2015. my perception is less highlight reel catches in 2016 compared to 2015 and this may influence voters. perception could be wrong

He probably will, or rather should. This is the Gold Glove after all, be prepared to be disappointed.

 

I'm still annoyed E5 didn't win the SS for DH last year.

I hope Pillar wins it. Might take his value to an all time high. At that point I hope he is traded. Wonder what Pillar could return. Another OF would need to be in the package.
