vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 How is this a question? Atkins already said Sanchez is done in the rotation. He's got one or two starts left and that's it.

vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Yup. Whether or not that should happen is the real question For sure. I think if they're going to pull him from the rotation they should just shut him down entirely. I know nothing though.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Should be Dickey. Will be Sanchez.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What if they let Estrada rest his back for 15 days before pulling out Sanchez?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Regardless of our own individual opinions pertaining to the deals I think we can all agree that this should absolutely be a playoff team. There are no perfect teams out there. This is a really good team. As I much as I dislike Feldman, I understand that we're talking about the 7th guy in the pen. It's not like we're 2 starters deep and then a bunch of stiffs, or have one outfielder and then two bums. This is a strong team and I'm excited for the next three months.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What if they let Estrada rest his back for 15 days before pulling out Sanchez? its a pretty tight race, I dont think this is like last year where we were superior to the Yankees.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What about a 6-man rotation?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 It sucks to cost Sanchez a chance at the Cy. The kid is a beast. I just don't get this inning saving BS. He isn't Strasburg coming back from injury. This is a terrible management decision in my opinion. He's earned the right to stay in the rotation. Why not limit Stroman?

I don't like the idea of moving Sanchez, but not because of his Cy Young chances, which are pretty meaningless to me. I'm just wondering if they are simply migrating the risk from one area to another. Yes, his innings will be reduced, but now he's being asked to warm up differently and be used differently (possible 2,3 days in the row, etc.) that he has up until this point of the season. Obviously there's a lot that may be happening behind the scenes that we're not privy to, but I just get a weird vibe from this move.
youngtea Verified Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 "terrible mangement" enough said Sanchez probably cares more about his next contract than a CY young.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Sanchez probably cares more about his next contract than a CY young. A CY Young would definitely help his future contract considerations. See Dickey.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Expect Estrada to get some rest, before taking Sanchez spot. A reliever has won a Cy Young in the past. It's not out of the question that Sanchez will be a dominant reliever and pile enough stats to be a strong contender. Not that I care all that much.
