Thoughts on the Upton Trade

Hey guys, old poster coming back. Just thought I'd share my thoughts on the Upton trade

 

I think it's a great deal. Upton was worth $12 mil last year and another $12 this year. At a 1.5 year deal for $5 mil that's probably one of the best contracts in baseball. Really shocking San Diego would do this trade.

 

The deal also provides insurance two both Saunders and Bautista leaving after next season, so we at least have part of our OF dealt with for now.

 

We gave up a guy who might (best case) be a 3rd starter in 6 years, so the value of that is limited.

 

Really liking this for us

 

Remove the part aboout this being one of the best contracts in baseball, and the rest of the post is defensible.

Last year was Ben Revere.

 

This year it's Mup Jr. This is better.

 

Now get someone better than tulo and price and we are in it to win it.

How so, we're not in it to win it now? We're miles ahead of what we were at last season. It's time to get that!
