One of two things.. Either the Jays are showcasing JB for a deadline trade (which I doubt) or they're most likely honouring his free agency by allowing him to maximize on his next contract. If I were Shapiro, I'd tell Gibby to construct a line up that has the best chance at winning and screw everything else, then again Gibby isn't that smart and has a few players sniffing his jock strap. I feel we don't owe Bautista anything after giving him that five year deal after he had that one and only great season.
