Yanks future is much brighter after this trade--even with some short term pain. McKinney and Torres have some serious promise.. they're likely long-term replacements for Headley and Beltran (or Gardner). And the Yanks aren't likely done trading.. especially considering they have Nova and Beltran possibly available for the highest bidder.

Yankees future got so much better and they only sold one piece, they should go full sell mode now and collect all those prospects.

Because it makes the Cubs better and we could face them in the WS?

I'll still happily take that World Series. Every (non-Canadian) baseball fan and casual sports fan in the world rooting for the lovable Cubbies. (Not to mention Fox.) Makes a Blue Jays championship that much sweeter.

If the Jays fall out - I'll be rooting for the Cubbies too.. 1908, great storylines.

Until they have a goat throwing out the first pitch, I want them to lose forever!

I think for Game 1 of the World Series, (at home) they should only allow people in if they come with goats.

Forgot who it was but they thought Chapman was going to be traded for a Jon Harris type prospect and I told them Chapman would get a haul. Well...

Congratulations, I guess. I take it that's what your looking for

The Yankees did well given they really only had about 3 trading partners theoritically (the Indians and the Nats being the other two) who would give up the kind of return they want. Only a team that is a surefire division winner can afford to overpay for a guy like Chapman because of his impact in the post season. It doesn't make sense for anyone else. We'll see what happens if they do decide to move Miller and Betances and what kind of return they'd get for them now.

Now that the Cubs have their ultra dominant reliever, who are the teams willing to pay a king's ransom for one ?

Cleveland and the Nationals would really be the only ones that have both the need and the prospects. You could argue that Baltimore could still use an elite reliever like Miller, but they don't have the prospect capital to pull it off especially since they are division rivals.

Texas maybe?
