QUOTE=THANOS;976641]Would have been nice to see Grilli there.

For sure....that is a no brainer really

44% of all runners inherited by Jesse Chavez have scored. Don't be fooled by relievers' ERA, folks! #BlueJays

I think most of us have felt like our relievers should be given a clean inning a lot more often than they have been.

With his speed and his bat being very average, it wasn't that bad of an idea.

Still not a fan. There is such a slim margin of error with a squeeze bunt and it's not like Pillar is "that" fast.

.... not really, who pitches the 8th?

Who cares..? We need to use our best relievers in the most dire situations in the game, screw roles.

A reliever's job is to provide relief, part of the situations should be with runners on. Its in excusable to not be able to get an out from the first 3 batters you face

Thank you..

Chavez can pitch the 8th starting the inning with no runners on. Thats when he should be used. With no runners on

With Lake, in that situation, I could understand running a bunt play; yet Gibbons let's him swing away?

That was not a dire situation, Chavez is just s***. only 1 runner in scoring position against a s*** bat in Alonso with 2 outs in the 6th. That's not high leverage. Our pitchers are just s***

Has the Coliseum been a house of horrors for us over the past number of years? I seem to recall a lot of losses (particularly that 4 game sweep in 2014).

As I said above, if a reliever can't pitch in a situation with runners on then he's useless and only a mopup man. That's inexcusable. He's a reliever he needs to provide relief with or without any runners on
