Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Why is this funny? Well for one, Encarnacion is already one of the best hitters in baseball, I don't think he's getting much better than this. Then there's also the fact that he's been one of few premier sluggers who manages to keep his strikeouts in check without sacrificing his power.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Ive heard that Archer has the best slider in baseball? Yeah dont think so. Wow from Kluber best in the AL, just behind Liriano for the best in bigs last year. Kluber's slider is actually flagged in fangraphs as a curveball, but even if you include it as a slider he is way behind Archer.

It's somewhat of a slurve from Kluber, kind of hard to classify, regardless it's an excellent pitch as is Archer's.
banned Verified Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 What are the jays this series with bases loaded? 0/6? Not even a sac fly in there lol.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Edwin really shat the bed Did you see the filth that Kluber threw him? Those are not easy pitches to recognize/hit.

Nobody will ever give credit to the other team's pitcher. Always a failing on the Blue Jays. Narrow-minded analysis.

The last one was a foot off the plate and a ball right out of his hands, EE was over anxious, he lasy off them all the time. The first slider was in a good spot though.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Did you see the filth that Kluber threw him? Those are not easy pitches to recognize/hit. I did and he shouldn't have swung period.

I already know he's one of the best hitters in baseball. His K rate is 20% so far this year, so yeah he can be better. Many premier sluggers shorten up with two strikes and especially with a runner on third with less than two out (Ortiz,Miggy,Trout, just to name a few). EE makes no adjustment in these situations, but the frustrating part is that he can do it if he really wanted to.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Why does Smoak have permission to swing at 3-0 pitches
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Kluber should just keep throwing that breaking ball, our righties cannot hit it

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 on the plus side, 71 pitches already
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Kluber should just keep throwing that breaking ball, our righties cannot hit it Tulo is the only one who hasn't looked overmatched by it today.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Did you see the filth that Kluber threw him? Those are not easy pitches to recognize/hit. If he shortened up with two strikes and just thought contact gap to gap, he would have laid off that 0-2 slider easily.
banned Verified Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 73 pitches and 2 out in the third, Noice.
