In his third career Triple-A start, Dietrich Enns dominated the Buffalo Bisons en route to a Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 2-1 win at Coca-Cola Field on Friday.

The Yankees' 2012 19th-round pick faced just one more than the minimum over 6.2 innings, holding the Herd to four singles.

"Once again we saw a tough pitcher. He uses both sides of the plate and comes in on righties really well," said manager Gary Allenson of the lefty.

"He's got a nice changeup and some type of slider or slurve. He did a great job."

Enns didn't issue a walk and punched out a handful to lower his ERA to 0.96 as a Rider.

For the third time in as many starts, John Anderson worked five innings before making way for the bullpen. The 27-year-old set season-highs in both strikeouts and walks with a trio of each, and was charged with just the lone run on four hits -- also bests for Anderson while a member of the Herd.

The RailRiders opened the scoring in the top of the first. Donovan Solano slapped a single into right field and was doubled home two batters later on Gary Sanchez's liner to the wall.

Both teams were then held off the scoreboard until the ninth.

With two out in the top half of the frame, Ben Gamel belted a home run off of the tent behind the right-center field wall to make it a 2-0 contest. The insurance run proved to be valuable as the Herd answered back in their final at bat.

After Alexi Casilla flied out to the track in left, Darrell Ceciliani hit a high fly ball that hit the roof above Bully Hill in right. The left-fielder's second homer of the year brought Buffalo within one but that was as close as the Bisons would get, as Nick Goody retired the next two batters for his second save of the season.

Buffalo used three relievers across the final four frames. Franklin Morales took over for Anderson and pitched around two walks for a scoreless sixth.

Danny Barnes continued to prove his value as a prospect, working two more innings without allowing a run. The native of Manhasset, NY struck out four more batters, bringing his total to six over his three appearances with Buffalo.

"He's got a disappearing fastball and a really good slider that's tough to pick up," noted Allenson.

"I guess he is as advertised. He's a guy that's probably made himself a prospect."

Ryan Tepera was tagged with the run on Gamel's homer while striking out two in the ninth.

BISONS NOTES:

With his first-inning single, Tony Sanchez has now reached base in each of his last 17 games…Jesus Montero failed to do so in a 0-for-3 night, ending his on-base streak at nine games…13,155 fans filled Coca-Cola Field for the Canada Day affair, which is the fifth time this season that the ten thousand ticket plateau has been reached.

BINGHAMTON, NY - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (35-45) took a win and a loss in Friday's doubleheader with the Binghamton Mets (34-45) at NYSEG Stadium.

The Fisher Cats dropped Game 1 by a score of 10-4. All-Star first baseman Rowdy Tellez blasted his 11th homer of the season on a line drive to right to give the Fisher Cats a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Binghamton scored eight unanswered runs over the next two frames. The Mets offense was highlighted by an L.J. Mazzilli three-run homer in the second and a Maikis De La Cruz grand slam in the third.

Dwight Smith, Jr. knocked home Ryan Lavarnway with a fielder's choice in the fourth, and Shane Opitz added an RBI double in the seventh, but the Fisher Cats were held to six hits in the seven-inning game. Tellez and Lavarnway each went 2-for-3 with an extra base hit.

B-Mets starter Tyler Pill (W, 5-8) went the distance, allowing four runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in seven complete innings.

The Fisher Cats once again jumped out to an early lead in Game 2, thanks to an RBI double from Jason Leblebijian and a three-run homer from Jorge Saez, his third of the year. Jason Bergen managed to hold the lead 4-0 through three innings, allowing a run on four hits and turning the ball over to Brady Dragmire in the fourth.

New Hampshire broke the game open with six runs in the fifth. Shane Opitz singled, Christian Lopes walked, and Roemon Fields knocked in a run with a single to left. Leblebijian followed with a double off the right field fence to score Fields, and Tellez plated a pair with a single to left. Saez capped the rally with a sacrifice fly to right. When the dust settled, the Fisher Cats had sent nine batters to the plate and opened up a 10-1 lead.

Binghamton answered back with a three-run homer from Phillip Evans in the fifth, but Fields added another RBI single in the sixth to give New Hampshire an 11-4 cushion. Dominic Smith homered in the seventh to cap the scoring at 11-5.

Leblebijian finished the doubleheader 4-for-7 with three doubles and two RBIs. Tellez reached base five times with three hits and two walks.

The two teams will play a second doubleheader on Saturday night, with first pitch scheduled for 5:35 p.m. Jeremy Gabryszwski is scheduled to start Game 1 for New Hampshire, with top prospect Conner Greene on the hill for Game 2.

The Fisher Cats will return home on Monday, July 4 to begin a four-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs. Each game will be followed by an Atlas Fireworks Show, including a Mega-Blast Atlas Fireworks Spectacular on the Fourth of July.

The top two prospects in the Red Sox organization, Yoan Moncada and Andrew Benintendi, are currently on Portland's roster.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Behind the pitching of Jon Harris and Josh DeGraaf, the Lansing Lugnuts (7-2, 43-36) held off the South Bend Cubs (7-2, 48-30), 3-2, on Friday night at Four Winds Field, tying the Cubs for first place atop the Eastern Division.

John La Prise and Justin Atkinson supplied RBI base hits in the second inning, and Connor Panas ripped an RBI single in the third to help the Lugnuts build a 3-1 lead.

From there, the game was left up to Lansing's pair of right-handers - and they came through.

Harris (Win, 7-1) allowed a first-inning RBI single to Cubs phenom Eloy Jimenez before shutting down South Bend over the next five innings. He departed one batter into the sixth, finishing with a line of six innings, eight hits, two runs (one earned), one walk and four strikeouts.

DeGraaf (Save, 3) allowed his inherited runner to score in the seventh, due to a Carlos Sepulveda RBI single, but came back to strand runners at second and third by striking out Jimenez and coaxing a grounder to third from Tyler Alamo.

The right-hander steamrolled from that point onward, finishing the game by setting down nine consecutive Cubs, three by strikeout.

Cubs starter Casey Bloomquist (Loss, 5-4) entered the evening boasting six perfect innings against the Lugnuts in 2016, but surrendered nine hits, three runs and one walk in five innings, striking out five.

Lansing's top offenders were Juan Kelly and Connor Panas, with the former going 3-for-5 with a double, and the latter extending his on-base streak to 19 games with three singles and a walk in four plate appearances.

The second game of the three-game series will take place at 7:35 p.m. at Four Winds Field, featuring Lansing left-hander Angel Perdomo (2-2, 2.48) starting against right-hander Kyle Miller (3-1, 1.40).

The Lugnuts return to Cooley Law School Stadium in time for Independence Day! Go Nuts for special 4th of July LAFCU Fireworks with gates opening at 5 p.m., 50% off all drinks from 5-6 p.m., and a 7:05 p.m. first pitch against the Dayton Dragons.
