What's with that old school s***...Bobby Cox was a master of the platoons (Buck/Whitt, Mulliniks/Iorg) in the 80's which qualifies as old school to me. So if those maroons are spouting off, their nonsense isn't even historically accurate. I should hope Buck isn't one of them. It's thanks to platooning that allowed him to get more playing time than he deserved over a clearly superior player.

 

Cat and Johnson with Gibby, it happens. We can do this.

Although I have been a Goins fans, the MLB is just men playing a kids game. If Goins can't get things going then maybe he can just retire from baseball instead of wasting his time in the minors.

 

Goins is still young enough that he could go back to university and do something useful with his life, like becoming a doctor for example.

He's a great fielder. He had 60 days of success, 30 of which were days when he was facing expanded rosters;with the bat. The rest of his time in the Majors, he has been a terrible hitter. We had a perfect example of how to carry yourself as a good fielder who doesn't hit well, his name was John MacDonald. Guess what Johnny Mac did; bunted, hustled and did all the little things. Goins almost bunted into a double play last night. That was after grounding into a double play in the seventh. That's not acceptable at any level of baseball.
