Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Did I read a fangraphs article that suggested Tulo should maybe use a lighter bat? I wonder if that has any merit. No, I think he should use moon rock.
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 I don't understand some of you guys. IMO, we have 3 categories - guys hitting where they should, guys hitting better than they should and guys hitting worse then they should. Guys hitting where they should: Donaldson (slightly higher if anything) Bautista Smoak (although it's been an usual start) Pillar Goins (because we all knew he couldn't hit) Guys hitting better than expected: Saunders Zeke Barney Guys hitting worse than they should: Tulo Martin (who's playing hurt) Edwin We have 3 proven, veteran hitters who aren't hitting right now and this is Jacoby's fault? This is a whole new level of stupidity. I'm not going to dispute your logic, but if these kind of offence results are the overall expected "norm" where does that leave us this year?
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 A lot of extra tape study this off season on how to turn down this offense. So far it's worked, but these guys will get theirs. You should get to know baseball, it's a beautiful game. I would add that one of the ways that a hitting coach can earn his salary would be to identify new patterns and ways opposing pitching is attacking the hitters in order to identify ways to makes adjustments. So, your comment kind of supports the possibility that Jacoby may share some responsibility for the poor results.
Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 You can be concerned anytime you wish I am concerned. This concern has been met with much anger on this forum. We've all heard players talk about hitting coaches that have helped them. Why not shake things up? Yes, I know Jacoby isn't the reason the offence has been weak, but I've yet to hear that he's helped any. If people really don't want him fired, can they support getting a second batting coach? Even Cito and Murph would probably get better results. Yes, similar strikeouts but at least more runs.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Alright Harvey, the Jays have Brooks Jacoby and Eric Owens, you've asked what have they done 35 f***ing days into the season? Now tell me what hitting gurus you have to change an entire professional teams staff 35 f***ing days into this season, do you have an answer asshat? That's what I thought, this entire thread is a f***ing fallacy. Now crawl back to the crud piece of s*** hole, you so wholly came out of and die. Maybe I'll see your wanker at the end of May, but please f*** off, and understand sample sizes, K, thanks.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 This Dude stayed on-line for another 15 minutes... there is no answer, shut the front f***ing door. Bring an answer or crawl away... like others...
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I was going to ask this guy if he could suggest which world renowned hitting guru - who's unemployed - that he thought we should replace Jacoby with. Then I answered my own question. Bobby Tewksbary! Leg kicks for everyone!

FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 I came on here to start a 're-sign Jacoby' thread...
