John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Forgot about Stamkos. The chances are really good he signs here. They need a goalie. If his blood clot issue isn't career threatening. I know right now they say it's not, but you never know with that type of thing. If he needs to be on any kind of bloodthinners long term, contact sports are just out of the picture.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Starting to think that Donaldson's quote was pointed directly at Tulo and Martin, especially Tulo. I don't think Martin's eye is bad, just hit swing/miss is way high. That and he needs to go back to his old opposite field approach and stop trying to pull everything. I know it's tempting to try and yank everything in this division with its hitter friendly parks, but he's overswinging horribly.

Praxis Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 What's more worrying to me about Tulowitzki is the steep drop off in his offensive numbers: -4.1 last year, -3.1 this year. His stellar defence is pushing his WAR to 2.3 last year and roughly the same projected this year, but still.... I still believe, but it's getting harder.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I hear you, but 0.3 WAR so far? f***. Well... Money aside, you can have a 2 war ss who generates value from his bat or glove? At least if Tulo gets a hot streak it'll feel like a surplus of value. Once the defense goes, it's gone.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I'm calling a Goins HR here. You feeling it too? Lol
jays76 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Gibby should put Chavez back out there if Jays don't score.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Don't the Leafs have about a million picks in this year's draft? Are there any solid goalie prospects that they could draft? It's foolhardy to draft a goalie anywhere in top 2 rounds, arguably 3. They just take way longer to develop and you're better off taking a skater.

I'm not sure, I haven't followed the Leafs or hockey in general for a while now. I'm sure they can at least use the picks as currency in finding a solid goalie.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 You feeling it too? Lol Not really, just pulled it out my ass for kicks.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Forgot about Stamkos. The chances are really good he signs here. They need a goalie. They especially are now. We definitely do need a goalie. Kasimir Kaskisuo could blossom though.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Another hard hit ball, straight to the fielder.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 So refreshing seeing a ball hit the other way sometimes.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Let's go Jays, drive Pillar in here.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I rescind my Goins HR call and change it to a terrible swinging strikeout on a ball above his eyes or in other batters box.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Do we pinch hit Martin for Thole or is there no point until he heats up?
