KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Enough is enough, i'd rather watch hutch try to figure it out then watch dickey s*** ball every 5 days. Hutch can be dominant when he is on and is still young. Also Barney over Goins please.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dickey could be good in the pen. pinch hit Martin with Thole? nty
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 AA got out of here just in time.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 AA got out of here just in time. Starting to look like it, left Shapiro with little depth.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dickey could be good in the pen. This seems counter-intuitive to me given how often he gets tagged in the first inning.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dickey could be good in the pen. Tough to pull him out of the rotation right now. xFIP is right where you expect it to be, and he usually settles in nicely.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Starting to look like it, left Shapiro with little depth. Tagline for the next 5 years. No matter how Shapiro screws up I'm sure this is all we will be hearing
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Starting to look like it, left Shapiro with little depth. And a team built around old/expensive players. The good thing is that they didn't push this offseason, and chose instead to go with short-term contracts for Happ and Estrada.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dickey is what he's. He will be ok
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Dickey lost weight Sanchez gain weight Nothing has changed.
Praxis Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) Dickey lost weight Sanchez gain weight Nothing has changed. My ulcer's grown, does that count? Edited April 27, 2016 by Praxis
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 Just saying. Hutch's confidence must be shot seeing them playing Dickey over him.

KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 Heard Hutch cries himself to sleep every night over this. I cry myself to sleep after watching Dickey pitch.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 As much as I hate Dickey, I would trust him over Hutch
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I cry myself to sleep after watching Dickey pitch. We all do. What was AA thinking?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 We all do. What was AA thinking? He was thinking a starting 5 of Dickey, Morrow, Johnson, Buehrle, and Happ was going to be tops in MLB Like Amaro Jr in Philly with Halladay et al Neither worked out as advertised
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I really dislike Dickey starts. Even when he has a good knuckleball like today, it causes passed balls by the catcher, and errors when it is hit to infielders. Does anyone have stats on passed balls and errors when Dickey starts versus other Blue Jay pitchers?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 With Stroman and Sanchez, they will need Dickey's inning. He wasn't bad today, if Barney doesn't make that error, this game maybe be goes a bit differently

nextyear Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 You're not seriously implying that knuckle balls create more errors on the infield, are you? It definitely causes more passed balls and wild pitches. In any case, it makes playing the infield more unpredictable. As has been stated at least twice by Buck Martinez, Dickey himself feels that the infield shouldn't be playing defensive shifts when he is pitching, since groundballs off the knuckleball is too unpredictable. I don't see how such unpredictability is an advantage to the Blue Jay infielders.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Dickey pitches well in the second half no reason to pull him out. Unless he continues to be horrendous.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Dickey pitches well in the second half no reason to pull him out. Unless he continues to be horrendous. If this is the only reason let him pitch in the bullpen until after the Allstar break and let Hutch or Floyd start until then
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Dickey pitches well in the second half no reason to pull him out. Unless he continues to be horrendous. This narrative is so dumb.
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 Dickey pitches well in the second half no reason to pull him out. Unless he continues to be horrendous. This is such a dumb narrative....the season is 162 games long, not 81. We should not have to let Dickey s*** the bed for half a season every year, a win now is the same as a win in Sept. Not to mention Dickey wastes a roster spot with his caddie Thole.

It's not like the ball comes off the bat all knuckly like

That's just it He's had several of those games where so many weakly hit balls find holes and drop for base hits. It's maddening to watch.
