burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Anyone is better than Thole. How he is still a major league catcher is beyond me, other than as a personal caddy for Dickey. It's not just that he can't hit or defend that's so upsetting, it's the fact that he takes up a spot on the bench that we desperately need for options late on in games. Now I've dumped all over him he'll go 4-4 like Carerra. Any backup catcher is going to take up a spot on the bench though? At least he's still a good framer.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Dude, I just went to get the bobble head and leave since I had to work, I got there early and when I left at 11:05am the line stretched North on Spadina to Front lol. Wait you bought a ticket only to get a bobblehead and then leave?

I'll just buy a bobblehead off someone from Kijijji if I really want it. Saves me the time of going down early & waiting in line + cost of the ticket.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wait you bought a ticket only to get a bobblehead and then leave? I get free and 50% off tickets through work so it wasn't too much of a loss for me.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wait you bought a ticket only to get a bobblehead and then leave? I've seen a few people do that today. I think someone here even said they used to buy a couple tickets on giveaway days, use one for the giveaway, then return two hours later for the game.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wow looks like $60 is the going rate on Kijiji for one. Just for a friggen bobblehead.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Double A Thole in, not a fan of him.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 you work for Rogers? No comment. But if you look at the bobble head photo I posted the walls sure are Red.....
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 No comment. But if you look at the bobble head photo I posted the walls sure are Red..... Let me guess, you're Shapiro? /sarcasm
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Let me guess, you're Shapiro? /sarcasm No haha I used to work at the dome doing the press conferences, then moved onto Citytv then onto Web Streaming within Rogers for Sportsnet now.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wait you bought a ticket only to get a bobblehead and then leave? At least at the ACC, you can scan out. Granted, Raps don't have the same type of giveaway days like the Jays, though did that on bobblehead nights last year. I just don't feel like lining up in a queue at 9AM, then standing around in a ballpark for another 2 hours and paying expensive prices for beer & food.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 rooting for hutch here he needs a good start Would be great if he has a good year Not holding my breath but would be huge if he could replace Dickey next year and be a solid starter And be good depth in case of injuries in the meantime
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wow looks like $60 is the going rate on Kijiji for one. Just for a friggen bobblehead. You can bargain them down.

I have been to every ball park except Target Field and Anaheim's and all ball parks in the MLB on giveaway days at least let you go in and out, the dome is a gongshow but at least they let you bring in food the past few seasons so we got that going for us.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I don't hate Dickey or what he's done for us, but I really want this to be his last year here
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I don't hate Dickey or what he's done for us, but I really want this to be his last year here I am sure it will be his last year with the Jays, maybe some NL team will grab him in the off season
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Wow looks like $60 is the going rate on Kijiji for one. Just for a friggen bobblehead. it's a collectable, I would certainly pay that much. I mean, you can't even find a Delgado bobblehead now.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I am sure it will be his last year with the Jays, maybe some NL team will grab him in the off season Probably yes Someone will give him a 1 year 8-10M deal Mets maybe? They can have Thole back too thank you very much LOL Is Colon done after this year?

It's in the eye of the beholder. If you're a big fan of collecting baseball memorabilia and Josh Donaldson is your favourite player, that bobblehead is probably worth more than $60 for you. Plus whatever you paid, you don't have the intention of selling it. I'd probably spend $40-50 on one at most. My time over 4 hours is worth more than $50 (of what someone is selling one at), so I'd rather buy it off some smuck of Kijijji who thinks he/she is making a huge profit on selling a bobblehead for $50.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 This SN prospect spotlight video on Jon Harris is hilarious and sad to me..
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 it's a collectable, I would certainly pay that much. I mean, you can't even find a Delgado bobblehead now. I've got Roy Halladay bobbleheads, figurines, Carlos Delgado bobbleheads, figurines, autographed baseballs, Roberto Alomar Hall of Fame figurine etc. Give me a shout.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Haha someone is selling one for $100 on Kijijji.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 lol @parents believing their children are entitled to a free giveaway over someone who waited patiently in line longer than them.

Or how kids believer they are entitled to a foul ball when you go out of your way to catch one. Seriously, if a kid wants a foul ball, the mom/dad better be buying me a beer.
