why was he using drugs from the 80s or whenever it was? Go to Bautista and get the lastest s*** dude!

I love this post on so many levels.

I feel like all you have to do when you're caught with PEDs is say you were taking them to get over an injury.

Just say, "Ya.. I had a problem with my back in the off-season and I just wanted to be healthy for the start of the year. I got some bad advice on what to take to help my recovery but I accept my punishment."

And no one gives a s***.

The Andy Pettitte playbook.

Bingo!

Watched Chris Colabello interviewed by @SNETCampbell - really want to give him benefit of doubt. But it's really difficult. #Bluejays #Jays

Nick G @MrNGTV

@Wilnerness590 @SNETCampbell All I know, or rather want to believe is that he took them unintentionally.

"Want to believe" is the key part of your statement. I think we all want to believe that. #Bluejays #Jays

@Wilnerness590 You can't not root for the guy even if he made the mistake. Just hope he comes back and performs better than ever.

Fair, but taking an oral anabolic steroid on purpose isn't a "mistake". If he did it, it wasn't a mistake.

f*** off Wilner. Why this dumbass feels the need to be personally offended by Colabello, I'll never know. What a f***ing tool.

It's fairly f***ing easy to understand you gullible dipshit: Chris Colabello worked his whole life to get to MLB, had a hot start, went back to being s*****. Gets another chance with the Jays. How many people can honestly say you wouldn't do everything in your power to stay up there? I don't f***ing blame Colabello one bit. He did what was best for him and his family.

The f***ing judgment from a f***ing guy like Mike Wilner, who has a horseshoe up his ass simply maintaining the job he has now, and is f***ing terrible at it to boot, is really f***ing rich. He knows f*** all about the game, is a f***ing giant beta pussy and bends over backwards to get offended about everything. Add in an unlistenable voice and a s***** personality, he should just take this opportunity to kiss the Rogers Board of Directors' collective asses.

Like a thief getting caught and having regrets afterwards. I have ZERO sympathy for cheaters.

That's because you lack the ability to think and reason like a normal person.

He said he was tested 5 days prior to the test he was caught, was guessing he got lazy thinking he was in the clear and then they sprung another test on him before he could take the masking agent.

There are holes in his story, and a lot of what he said made no sense (he was checking texts, phone calls, had his dogs urine tested (?!))...bottom line is he's just desperate and instead of being a man he's gonna draw this out and play the victim just like Bautista arguing balls and strikes every game.

Ya I thought that was weird too. Why is he getting his dogs urine tested? WTF? Colabello must be really stupid.

Yeah. This doesn't reflect poorly at all on Colabello as a person. He's 32 years old, and gave up getting an education as well as ~13 years of experience in the job market. Every week he was able to cling to an MLB job is about 20K in income, for a guy with very little in career earnings relatively speaking, and likely bleak job prospects after retiring from baseball. A lot of people passing judgment would have done everything they could to maximize the amount of time spent on an MLB roster.

Didn't he get tested positive before the season even started though? So its not like he started taking them after he was struggling at the plate. Coming into the season he was the starting 1st baseman more or less.

He's probably been taking something for a long time now, and whatever he was using to mask didn't work this time for some reason.

The union called him to tell him he tested positive March 5 which means he was dead man walking from then until the suspension came down. No wonder he sucked so badly.

Yeah. I mean, you (presumably) or I aren't going to test positive for synthetic testosterone. This is something you put into your body. When your livelihood depends on not taking illegal steroids, don't expect people to feel bad for you if you test positive for illegal steroids.

This.

Honestly his best defense really is that if he was going to cheat this is a drug you don't use to cheat. Like no one is this stupid to be caught using this drug when there are so many better ones to use that don't stay in your system.

People on the outside probably don't realize how good he was last year thinking he was this amazing player when really he just had a huge BABIP. Its not like his BB, K and ISO numbers were even that much better than before.

Kinda funny to think by this time next year he could be flipping burgers to try to make ends meet. Almost feel bad for him.

He'll probably go into coaching or something.

That's some kind of perverted thinking that you have. You must be some kind of cheater yourself.

I think everyone can understand why he did it, I might have done it too in his situation. The issue is, if you get caught, just be a man and admit it, don't make yourself look like an idiot.

Even that is somewhat understandable given how effectively he's managing to garner sympathy. You would think after Ben Johnson, Lance Armstrong and countless others people would be skeptical of these denials but since so many people still seem to want to believe them, the denials will keep coming. Users almost always start by denying.

I would have gone with rehabbing a torn BABIP tendon...

It's called empathy.

I am torn. I feel for him. My 7 year old and I listened to him last night on the way to his little league. My son is upset about losing him and trying to understand it all. Listening to Cola lay it all out like that is tough. On the other hand, his voice started to sound like Oscar Pistorius testifying at his trial with a forced, constant cry talk. I thought that guy was a complete liar.

I don't know what happened and its frustrating. I want to believe what he says based on what I heard last night, but its hard to do given all we have seen on these deals. If he did do it, as many have said, I do understand the motivation. But I'm less inclined to be very sympathetic.

The denial bothers me more than the act itself.

I don't like the fact that he took a roster spot away from someone who (presumably) has been chasing that childhood dream his whole life without cheating. Although baseball is all about money and business, I think they have to keep the childhood dream alive. As an adult, it's one of the few magical things left in this world for me. I see it in my 5 year old's eyes and never want it to fade.
