BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Powerful line up today. 6-9 is AAA material, Carrera batting sixth. Lol.. This is what pisses me off so badly about not using the Ceciliani or Pompey options. We have already seen Saunders miss a game and Pillar mashing a wall which eventually is going to cost him playing time. 2-3 W/L and playing against a team we have to beat. We have 2 likely short starts the next 2 days and Gibby tore through the pen in last nights game. So today we play a scrub in LF? There is just no need of it. We need to put our best options on the field every game in a "win" year.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 You thought wrong. This was never the arrangement. Dan was pbp and Buck was color from 1995-2000. Then it was Dan and Pat in 2001. oh Christ really? my bad. I don't really remember that back in the day and I always hear people say how good they were. I can't imagine a time where Buck spewing his ******** was ever considered "good".

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Carrera had no options bro.. Lol Do you think I give a flying f***? I know that. See you later Zeke. I doubt anyone would pick him up anyway and if they do so what. This guy is the epitome of replacement level.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 oh Christ really? my bad. I don't really remember that back in the day and I always hear people say how good they were. I can't imagine a time where Buck spewing his ******** was ever considered "good". Well I think a few things happened. The fan base got a lot smarter (I know I sure did) and Buck stayed the same or worse. The other thing is that Buck just talks way more now that he supposedly does play by play (though he editorializes way more than a true colour guy would). The more Buck talks the more opportunity there is for him to say something stupid and he's simply been exposed as not that interesting. All this is amplified by the fact that Tabby is a dreadful, dreadful colour guy who doesn't really act as anything but an echo chamber for Buck. One thing I've noticed about Shulman and Siddal is that they both let the other guy say his thing without repeating it back to the audience. They don't create that weird feedback loop that Buck and Tabby create where they just go and on about the same tired point.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 f*** man I hate seeing Multiple starters off at the same time, spread that s*** out Gibby.
intrigid Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 People really should tone down their complaints about the broadcasting. Like tone it way the hell down. Maybe posters here are too young or too recent of bandwagoners to remember what we had in the years since. Brian Williams and John Cerutti. Rod Black and Joe Carter. Rob Faulds and John Cerutti. Jamie Campbell and Rance Mullniks. Jim Hughson and Rance Mullniks. Every complaint you might have with what we have now. Every other combo was at least 5 times worse. Dan and Buck were widely regarded as the best broadcasting team in baseball. Not just in Jays circles; it was generally agreed upon around the league. And they're the same now as they were then.

Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 This is a really bad lineup today. Gibbons has lost it (though he may have never had it?)
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 It's baseball Back-to-back-to-back blown saves is not just baseball, it's baseball with a shaky pen and a s***** manager, or both.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 This lineup looks gross... So we probably score like 10 runs today
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 This lineup looks gross... So we probably score like 10 runs today And we'll need every single one of them
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Dickey pitching and awful lineup...I'll be shocked if they win today.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 lol no GDT thread yet from this board. Shows we have all given up
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Or... Small sample size. Lrn to bsbl plz The fact that it happened 3 games in a row should be taken into consideration... Just out of curiosity, when's the last time a championship team blew 3 saves in a row? Can someone look that up

I refuse to use comparisons to justify how terrible these men are at their job. s*** is s*** - no matter how bad the previous regime was.

And in the 2011 WS game 6 the Rangers blew 2 saves in the same game against the Cardinals.
