RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Questionable waste of a former elite reliever. They played around with him so much with the ups and downs
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Ah s*** Sad but probably necessary
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Questionable waste of a former elite reliever. They played around with him so much with the ups and downs Because his performance was so up and down
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Questionable waste of a former elite reliever. They played around with him so much with the ups and downs Every single reliever is a "former elite reliever". He's s***, and Leon-Biagini are better options right now.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Good. Delabar is done. Biagini's got this.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 So they're on the hook for 1/6th of his salary?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Questionable waste of a former elite reliever. They played around with him so much with the ups and downs Ya he had 1 good year with us a couple years ago then after that he turned into a pumpkin like most relievers. Which is why you don't go hog wild on relievers in free agency we have better in house options in Leon and Biagini.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 He was a good story. From substitute teacher to American League All-Star. All with an elbow like this. http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1445405/steve-delabar-x-ray-elbow.jpg There's potential for a made for tv movie here.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Too bad, he was always an easy guy to root for. He'll go down as a testament to just how fickle bullpen success can be.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 That picture is gross. Best of luck to Delabar. He was a good story and gave us a good year (which is more than Eric Thames can claim). Time to move on.
WONDERBAT Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 This is probably the best outcome for him, he has the chance to latch onto another major league club. He's pitched well enough in spring for a team looking for a big reliever to take a chance on.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 He's a major league reliever, just right now an average one that has no room on this team. He'll make the roster of another club, the fastball is still there

Tim Burton could use that picture for a dark movie.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 The Blue Jays have released righty Steve Delabar, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports on Twitter. Toronto also cut loose southpaw Randy Choate, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca was among those to tweet.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I never liked Randy Choate. He is a waste of a roster spot. The guy is obviously only effective against lefties, but I want someone who will at least have the chance to get a righty out.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 So: Storen Osuna Cecil Biagini Venditte Floyd Chavez IR - Loup
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 So: Storen Osuna Cecil Biagini Venditte Floyd Chavez IR - Loup Sounds like Estrada is going to start on the DL, so Leon probably makes the team as well, at least for a week.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 So: Storen Osuna Cecil Biagini Venditte Floyd Chavez IR - Loup add Leon for Marco (DL)
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Tim Burton could use that picture for a dark movie. unlike all of those Tim Burton light movies. Those Tim Burton RomCom's are the best.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 add Leon for Marco (DL) Could be Montero or Lake.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 So: Storen Osuna Cecil Biagini Venditte Floyd Chavez IR - Loup I kind of like the idea of Venditte as a LOOGY who can get out one non-elite RHB between 2 lefties.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 So: Storen Osuna Cecil Biagini Venditte Floyd Chavez IR - Loup God I hate casuals. It's called a DL in baseball. Go back to watching hockey you stupid Canuck.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Also it sounds like Chavez will be used in higher leverage: Storen Osuna Cecil Chavez Biagini Venditte Floyd
Jonzo Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 God I hate casuals. It's called a DL in baseball. Go back to watching hockey you stupid Canuck. God, shut up already.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Could be Montero or Lake. Smoak, Colabello, Edwin and Montero is the Alex' kinda roster construction. No way brother, no way.
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 His 2013 season was the most feel good story of a player I've seen in a Jay uniform. I was really disappointed last Spring when they didn't keep him on, not to mention how senseless it was losing a year a of control of Castro / Osuna at the time. I hope he finds success elsewhere.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Also it sounds like Chavez will be used in higher leverage: So basically the role Hendriks would have had if used properly.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Smoak, Colabello, Edwin and Montero is the Alex' kinda roster construction. No way brother, no way. Edwin may not be ready.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Edwin may not be ready. Edwin is like Randy Choate. Two pitches in march and he's ready to go.
