G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Who all is going? I presume they'll only have their legit 25 man squad present for these??
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 I'm going to the Saturday game. Pumped.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Who all is going? I presume they'll only have their legit 25 man squad present for these?? Hard to say for the second game i would assume Stroman would go down a day early and maybe some of their regulars. I know is a big deal for montreal but I would want a well rested team that does not have to travel that night before the opener. Maybe its not as big of deal as i am making it out to be.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Its kind of strange setup. They are leaving Florida to fly to Montreal only to fly back to Florida. You would have thought they might want to schedule this earlier. But these games are fun.

Yeah they go straight to Tampa for 4 games beginning the day after. Gibby will likely give the guys who need it a day off one day or the other.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Who all is going? I presume they'll only have their legit 25 man squad present for these?? No they brought top prospects before. The regular players will play 5 or 6 innings. I think both Stroman and Sanchez pitched in Montreal before they made their debut.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Who all is going? I presume they'll only have their legit 25 man squad present for these?? I think last year they supplemented with quite a few non-roster players. I think I remember Boyd and Taylor Cole pitching in Montreal

I'm sure players want to go but I'd just leave good pitchers in Florida. Hell I don't even want the position players playing on that awful turf. Between going from the playing surfaces of Montreal to Tampa to Toronto the players are going to be in wheelchairs after the first 2 weeks of the season lol.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'm also going to the Saturday game. I think you'll see as said above the regulars for 4-6 innings (2-3 at bats) and then prospects filling in.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Have Stro stay in Florida get his rest.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Was considering to go, though good seats were quite expensive for just a ST game if I recall correctly.

Jonzo Verified Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I hope the Jays put out a derp lineup.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Fun debate: Who has the better career as a SP, Daniel Norris or Matt Boyd?

TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Fun debate: Who has the better career as a SP, Daniel Norris or Matt Boyd? Norris even if his back issues are chronic. Not close, not a debate, not fun.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Opening the season in Tampa is so blah
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Taylor Cole's kind of a forgotten man now. So forgotten that I've never even heard of him. I also like how G-Snarls asked the question....then answered it himself...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Opening the season in Tampa is so blah It really is. So hyped up to start the season and you have to go play in an almost empty cavern with zero atmosohere for 4 stinking games.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 So forgotten that I've never even heard of him. I also like how G-Snarls asked the question....then answered it himself... Taylor put us some sick numbers at Dunedin in 2014. 4.38 K/BB on a 11.3 K/9 but he was also old for the level, (24). His AA numbers have been a lot more pedestrian and he's 26 now so he can probably be safely written off.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 And yes I talk to myself sometimes. Lol

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Pedro Martinez, Tim Raines et Jim Fanning seront honorés lors des match @BlueJays vs @RedSox les 1er & 2 avril ! (those players will be honored before the games)
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I'm going to both games. Yessss

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I wonder if the place will even be half full for game 1 After going to Tampa and the clearwater area (close to St. Petersburg) I realized why no one goes to games. Not only is the stadium a complete dump but its in such a difficult place to get to. No public transportation and traffic is just as bad as Toronto. If they get a new stadium I think baseball will be successful there.
