It's a bit of a curious decision though. He's a vet and his stance has worked for so many years. Why change it?

Maybe because he likes dingers more. Tulo isnt smart at all IMO

If he goes down the path of JD and JB i am not too worried. And TBH i think it would be a better timing mechanism then the double tap he used to do. Seems that if you start late on your tap your screwed. I don't know a f***ing thing either.

This is a bit of an odd decision. Normally you implement a leg kick if you want to sell out for pull power, but Tulo has never had a problem with that. It could end up just screwing him up against offspeed stuff.

Cito has been working with him

It's not just the leg kick, his entire swing is different. Copying Donaldson.

Do the Blue Jays pay Tewksbary a salary at this point?

It's the same....if you "start" late on your toe tap or on a leg kick, you're screwed. Both are just timing mechanisms, although you can argue the leg kick generates more momentum.

Toronto "Leg Kick" Blue Jays

Pillar added too.

Fap fap.

What's so great about a leg kick? I mean if it works for him, that's great but is there something inherently superior about having one? Isn't it just about whatever works for the particular hitter? It's good if he incorporates it in a way that he's not self conscious about it at the plate and it's bad if he doesn't. For all we know, he'll slump through the first month and switch to something else.

The thing with Tulo is i don't think he would change just to change or at his age because someone told him to. I wonder what prompted him to do this?

Im just picturing a lineup of 9 JD's and JB's.

Leg kick does help create forward momentum and involve your body more. Tulo did have a very handsy swing. Also probably decreases his risk of oblique injury.

It was mentioned earlier that he messes with his swing all the time. If it makes him hit like the normal Tulo than do it.

Yeah he has experience changing his swing so that's a positive and he's coming off a bad season which makes you happy that he's exploring ways to bounce back but I don't really care about the specifics. I'm in favour of whatever works whether it's this or the next thing.

No better time to experiment with the leg kick when you have two of the best hitters that use the leg kick to give advice.

2014 he was one of the absolute best hitters in the game. Wish he'd just do whatever that required again. LOL

170 wRC+ FTW

Can you imagine if he does that with JD, JB and EE all hitting behind him. This team has the potential to go down as one of the best hitting teams ever.

I don't know, Steamer tells me that Tulo will only be a slightly above average hitter. Even though he's been elite his whole career...

I'm not too worried with Tulo hitting the Baseball. More so just staying on the field peroid.
