Given we already paid a $1 million buyout to him this year, he's probably our second highest paid middle infielder after Tulo. I'm assuming Goins, Barney, and Travis are all on <$1M deals

Not sure maybe I'm missing something, but 100k to me is a lot less than 1.05 mil. So No he will not make more than Barney.

Every year it is common to have 1 or 2 major injuries right out of the gate

But the Jays had wicked good luck the rest of the year regarding injuries outside of Travis. Two role players out for the year and a top pitcher back in time for a playoff drive with a well-rested arm. If that was the extent of the Jays injuries for 2016 that's not so bad.
