How on earth is Dylan Bundy still #25?

Also - Bregman and Correa up the middle in Houston is going to be pretty sick...errr, I guess one shifts to 3rd with Altuve sticking at 2nd? Damn that's a nice problem to have.

Altuve is overrated. Luhnow will trade him before Bregman's arrives

is Prospect 361 well known at all? They like my DDL farm better, so I'd like to think they are, but I've never really heard of them :P.

Obviously whichever publication likes your DDL farm a lot is the most accurate.

Sadly, I don't believe this to be true here :(

(not that I'm a believer in BP either)

MLB seems like they are really churning out solid lists these days. I find Jim Callis to be quite an agreeable gentleman, and they seem to have no qualms about boosting guys way up who weren't on their radar prior.

Agreed. They've improved their prospect lists by leaps and bounds since Callis joined. He also helps balance Mayo's general shittiness.

Really surprised to see arroyo on this list. Name only caught my eye bc I own him in LOD (boxy), and nothing about him screams great prospect. Even less so with questions he sticks at short

Don't be so hard on yourself. He's probably a real diamond in the rough, you'll see.

JMayo is s***, but Callis is the man.

I think Mayo gets s*** on more than he probably deserves. Everyone is capable of improvement and when I hear him discuss prospects, the first thought that comes to my mind is definitely not "that guy sounds like an idiot" though of course sitting next to O'Dowd doesn't hurt.

nah, I can still hate on him b/c I didn't draft him. Got him b/c Gibby didn't have enough room on the farm after stealing my top-end guys :P

I think Mayo is more just better in comparison now that so many good prospect guys have been sniped by front offices. I agree tho, he always got s*** on more than he probably deserved.

Callis love of Roman Quinn is almost BJMB dynasty level of prospect obsession.

Does anyone even know who is good at this stuff or not? Are these lists evaluated in retrospect or are these guys just given credit for putting together reasonable lists at the time?

It seems like there is usually a consensus from list to list. You rarely see someone take a chance and put a random in their top 10 or top 5. For example, I see Mazara and Brinson ahead of Benintendi on every friggin list. You can't tell me the difference is that obvious. I'd probably have Benintendi ahead of them both to be honest.

Track record and proximity play big roles, too. I think prospect guys are scared to be the ones who miss on a universally hailed prospect that they don't like. A few years ago, there was a guy named Adam Foster from a site called Project Prospect and he actually posted on our board and interacted with us. The year before Lawrie exploded, he left him completely off his top 100 when everyone had him near top 25. Lawrie had his debut and Foster was s*** on endlessly and thus, stopped posting.

I think the guy who took over for Kiley at Fangraphs could be interesting, but Fangraphs sheep don't tolerate deviations from their perceptions.

Pretty much the only "different" list you'll find is Chris Mitchell's KATOH rankings where he has to specify like 4 times + a primer that they were spit out by a machine and scouting is still important.

No, the forum participants have no idea what they're talking about.

They get all of their information from other writers, and the little bit of statistics that is available.

And then when a writer goes against the other writers, or the stats, they think he is a complete clown, without knowing any of the ranking methodology.

It's also important to recognize the difference between real-life prospects and fantasy prospects. Buxton is a fantastic fantasy prospect, in real-life, not quite as much.

Make an offer to him at #LoD

Vetrin for blue chip

No. I've made you an offer in BBDL, and haven't heard back, this after you asked me to send you an offer. Pick your game up, amigo!

Have you seen the new multi year Katoh and tweaks that managed to get rid of Samir Duenez? Pretty neat.
