Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 What about for a team like GD's? who's team has nothing to play for the rest of the year? It's not like Freeman is 32... he's going to be good for many years yet.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 You should pillage GD though, in truth he's infatuated with Benintendi. He prefers your offer to my offer of AJ Reed & Kevin Maitan, which is crazy. Wear him down and he'll accept. He's also taking advice from North, so he's screwed.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Some other comps for Benintendi: Dexter Fowler Johnny Damon (with less SB) A.J. Pollock Christian Yelich If you're expecting a 30/30 guy with .900 OPS every year, you're gonna be disappointed. It's going to be mostly AVG and 2Bs.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Eventually Freeman is going to get traded (St. Louis, Boston, or New York?) and start slashing somewhere in the range of 270/370/500 with 25/100/100 production. And he's only in his age-26 season. That's more valuable than any prospect.

He's good, he's still young, that's a guy you build around.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 If we held a full draft today, who would go higher; Freeman or Benintendi? I like the public trade negotiations!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I like the public trade negotiations! Me too, it's the perfect opportunity for sabotage.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I might go on a BB binge! RIP John Berry!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 See GD, I tolds ya the league would be unanimously against it.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 lol, 5:0 in favour of Freeman. This did not go how Frenshoup intended.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 lol, 5:0 in favour of Freeman. This did not go how Frenshoup intended. We can safely assume Boxy will vogt for Benintendi.
JG34 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Freeman for sure. ^owns Freeman in BBDL
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) It's close but I'd probably go with Benintendi. I don't think you can assume Freeman will get traded and Benintendi in Bostons lineup will get a ton of counting stats. AL east is full of hitters parks too Edited August 9, 2016 by jays4life19
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Give me the guy who you can basically pencil in for a .360 wOBA with 20 HR's and good rate stats. Benintendi is easy to dream on, but let's not forget the Trout vs Lawrie debate.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I can't believe how quickly some of these guys have moved from being drafted to being productive in MLB.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Prince Fielder was NOT a successful pick.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Prince Fielder was NOT a successful pick. Ouch, could have had Longoria, Kipnis, Blackmon, Wil Myers, Brandon Belt. I definitely wish I took Brandon Belt instead of Sonny Gray.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Ouch, could have had Longoria, Kipnis, Blackmon, Wil Myers, Brandon Belt. I definitely wish I took Brandon Belt instead of Sonny Gray. Why did you do this to me?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Why did you do this to me? I'm just a really vindictive person.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I mean, at least you didn't draft Byron Buxton ahead of all those guys and more.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I seem to remember getting laughed at for taking Wil Myers that high.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 There's some guys I didn't expect to still be here that are extremely tempting, but I'm gonna be true to myself and reaffirm my faith in Wil Myers. BB is on the clock. Wil Myersuxxxxxxxxxxx Probably better than Buxton I'd be pretty surprised and disappointed if this were the case. Don't worry. It's not. I was unbelievably close to taking a pitcher (from another team) instead of Myers too. I even had it typed out, but changed my mind last minute. We'll see if I regret it or not. Knowing you, was probably a certain guy on the Mets. I find it quite fascinating that you appear to be drafting the same players you usually do despite consistently poor results. It was Boxy.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 So Boxy hated the Myers pick, thought Harper should go before Trout, and took Byron Buxton in the top-80?
