JG34 Verified Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Ffs, finally. Everyone pm me your email you want attached to the league. Done.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The slope in value between SP picks in the last 7 rounds is very shallow. It's there, it's just not steep enough to warrant any need to jump on pitching. Andrew Cashner is basically is valuable as Jeff Samardzija. Two years younger, probably projects for a bit more K's and a slightly higher ERA. Those kinds of comparisons exist all over the round gap. The differences between Maeda, McCullers, Gausman and say Heaney, Velasquez are maybe 20% skill and 70% preference. 10% mystery.
spittin Verified Member Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 The upside for both is that they do 7.5 K/9, 2.2 BB/9 with a good ERA and some wins. Porcello is disadvantaged in ERA but has the durability edge. Same age, similar assets. That it's wishful thinking to expect similarly valuable assets to go one after another is what provides such great opportunity for the same owners to win these leagues year after year. Indeed, there is no reversing that. Smyly has a career 8.77 K/9 which is significantly better and has been on the rise since he began in the MLB. Also his ERA has been better as well.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 huhh? I didn't expect him to get picked yet.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I didn't expect him to get picked yet. The remaining 2Bs are a wasteland, I'm just hoping the Cell boosts his ISO a bit, maybe get him to 20 HR if he can actually play a full season.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I didn't expect him to get picked yet. Didn't someone draft him in the 2nd round in the DDL?
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Didn't someone draft him in the 2nd round in the DDL? Yeah, then he fixed that mistake by trading him to some schmuck for Iwakuma. Then he traded Iwakuma back to that schmuck for Betances and Clint Frazier.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yeah, then he fixed that mistake by trading him to some schmuck for Iwakuma. Then he traded Iwakuma back to that schmuck for Betances and Clint Frazier. That schmuck probably just felt bad for you.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 That schmuck probably just felt bad for you. I'm no less pathetic now, so he should keep the charity coming.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I'm no less pathetic now, so he should keep the charity coming. Just wait you turn. Theres only so many Syndergards and Glasnows to go around.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Just wait you turn. Theres only so many Syndergards and Glasnows to go around. A Mazara and/or a Mateo will suffice.
