You could arrange the pitchers taken in the last 150 picks in really any order and it'd make just as much sense. Iglesias and Gausman aren't better than Rodriguez and Porcello. A high variance position and some strange decisions.

Hamels was maybe a tad under-drafted, could have slotted in around 95. C-Mart, Smyly, Shark and others are definitely in the huge tier of mid-rotation guys who have one big flaw or another (inconsistency, durability, age, etc.).

 

Frenchsoup's rotation isn't in that much trouble as long as he takes the right starter soon. Although he reached on some bats.

Not sure what you're getting at though, if there's a large group in the same tier then of course they have to be selected at some point, I don't think you can expect a big run of 50 arms at once in consecutive order based on value, that's wishful thinking. For guys like Smyly vs Porcello there's a definite upside difference wich is why there's a gap between them being picked.
