I know I am in the minority here but allowing future draft picks to be traded too soon is how we got into this mess of the 2021 draft being worthless. I said it 5 years ago in that other league and I still believe it...the next years draft picks should not start until the current draft starts

I don’t think it was 2021 picks available too soon that made them worthless, so much as the adjustment in league format pushing this last midseason draft so close to the new annual NPD, combined with covid wiping out the MiLB season.

I factored in the decreased value of the 2nd rounder for Allard. I figured you may have the skills to pluck a diamond from the rough with a high 2nd rounder.

I agree that it was the change to Fantrax. I also believe that draft pick trades hurt parity. The first year in LoD was insane. Speedy and I made the finals based on 2 hitters. I am the most trade adverse of all the BORED members so I am getting down voted regardless but wanted my say. No one in this league is going full Gibbers but he should be the warning against

I actually voted against P2F’s proposal to add the second year of picks, out of the same concerns you have. I’m in a hockey sim league where we can trade 4 years of picks, and there are owners inheriting teams with almost no picks until 2024. It’s insane.

 

I’ve enjoyed the flexibility of having the second year in LoD though. I think we’d have to put any change in BORED to a vote.
