BTS Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Drew Pomeranz is absolutely terrible and I'm pretty bitter about it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Ohtani needs TJS and still cracks dingers on back to back nights. What a beauty. This guy is going to DH 80% of next season.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Ohtani needs TJS and still cracks dingers on back to back nights. What a beauty. This guy is going to DH 80% of next season. Remember I tried to get the Hohtani part off you last offseason after you acquired him. Damnit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Remember I tried to get the Hohtani part off you last offseason after you acquired him. Damnit. If anything I may trade Pohtani this offseason.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 If anything I may trade Pohtani this offseason. No, thanks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 WTF... Ohtani goes deep again, and steals a base.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 WTF... Ohtani goes deep again, and steals a base. Well, better get him back on the mound asap so he can get injured, amirite fellow morons?!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Well, better get him back on the mound asap so he can get injured, amirite fellow morons?! Seeing as how he can still hit like a boss with a UCL tear, you can probably give him TJS the day the season ends, have him rehab during the offseason, and still DH pretty much to start next season, if not in the first half of 2019. Hold him off from pitching all of next year and let him DH while he rehabs the arm, then you're good to go in 2020. I don't see the problem.

They could have a 6-win superstar in RF.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I still don't see why they'd have him pitch again. They could have a 6-win superstar in RF. He's going to need TJS anyway if you want him in the OF, so why wouldn't you pitch him again after all that rehab? He's a really good pitcher.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 He's going to need TJS anyway if you want him in the OF, so why wouldn't you pitch him again after all that rehab? He's a really good pitcher. If you pitch him he's a DH 3-4 days a week. If you don't pitch him, he's a (likely excellent) right fielder 6-7 days a week. And pitching exacerbates the likelihood of him getting hurt seriously enough that he can't play the outfield. Look how things have gone this year. He's going to finish at 3.5-4 fWAR. He's probably at around 5-6 if he doesn't throw a single pitch this season.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 If you pitch him he's a DH 3-4 days a week. This is where we disagree. That is the Angels babying him because he had existing elbow and ankle injuries. If he's fully health you pitch him once every 7 days and DH him 5-6 days a week. That is what Ohtani wants and believes he can handle if healthy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 My matchup with L54 will be totally decided by the Sunday night HOU/BOS game.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 My matchup with L54 will be totally decided by the Sunday night HOU/BOS game. Once again Rick Porcello has a chance to burn you. If he flips K/BB, you will lose the matchup.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Once again Rick Porcello has a chance to burn you. If he flips K/BB, you will lose the matchup. Yep. There are multiple avenues for me to lose.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Man I hope Rick Porcello walks everyone except Bregman and White, then Gattis has a pinch hit grand slam.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Holy crap, jaysblue has come back and is going to take out The Drunks.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Holy crap, jaysblue has come back and is going to take out The Drunks. Yay!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Holy crap, jaysblue has come back and is going to take out The Drunks. If Dinger holds onto his lead, both the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds knocked out in the first round. Crazy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 White just eliminated my chances of taking OBO or RBI, so now I need Brad Peacock to walk someone. RIP.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Congrats on the win SG. Thanks buddy! You gave me a pretty good scare today when I saw it was 7-6 and hits + runs were both within 1.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Wow what a roller coaster of a week. She was tight the entire time, great match up Dinger. Did not expect Porcello to pull through tbh
