Thanks for bringing this up. It seems the draft has come and gone and I was totally oblivious to the fact, I thought it was in July. To summarize,

-Draft date will be the monday following the signing deadline, so July 17.

-You have to cut down to 12 prospects before the draft, if you haven't in time your pick will be passed until cuts made.

-There was never unlimited prospects.

Prospects may be kept on an MiLB roster until the following MLB conditions are met:

 

Hitters: 500 career PA

 

Pitchers: 26 career X [where X = GS + 0.5(relief appearances)]

 

Once a prospect has crossed one of these thresholds, he must be promoted to the MLB roster no later than the next February Prospect Cutdown or the next Annual MiLB Draft Prospect Cutdown, whichever comes first.

Urias is out for 14 months after shoulder surgery, who knows if he'll ever be good again? However, I do agree that AG probably should have put his name out there before dealing him, since he has considerable name value.

I did throw his name out there. That's why I got a couple offers.

I'm sure he'll be decent eventually, but he's out this year and next year, and then 2019 he'll probably take a while to get back in form. I don't want to wait 4 years to extract some value out of him.

He wasn't really that good in his MLB innings anyway. Mediocre SwStr % and s***** BB rate. If the shoulder surgery costs him a couple ticks, he could wind up as a reliever.
