P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 You need a deadline bro. I suggest Monday at 7:55 pm.Yeah, I haven't decided on an end-time yet. So having said that, sure, let's go with Monday at 7:55 PM!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Took Brad Ziegler. Don't have the link to the spreadsheet, so don't know who is next. If someone can PM the next guy, thanks.

Am I missing something? s*****, old reliever with a k/bb that might be lower than 2, low strikeouts and not closing? What is desirable about this profile?

What is desirable about this profile? I think he's been hovering around top-200 status years. K/BB and volume Ks won't be great, but he'll have a very low ERA and more than 25 saves+holds.

I was trying to nab a pick earlier to have a better shot at getting him along with Zych. Yeah he went a lot earlier in the DDL. I really needed to solidify my bullpen, so just took the veteran arm with experience. Could always roll the dice on a upside arm later on. Don't plan on keeping him beyond this season obviously, though if I could get a 2 something ERA from him, along with 25 + saves and/or holds, I'll be happy. Plus he's a likely handcuff for AJ Ramos, who I own as well.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Am I missing something? s*****, old reliever with a k/bb that might be lower than 2, low strikeouts and not closing? What is desirable about this profile? You're not missing anything. Replacement level RP with weak K/9 and K/BB, likely to explode into ERA hell at any time. Standard waiver wire holds guy with zero trade value.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 but he'll have a very low ERA That's far from a given. He's due to have his ERA explode into the completely unusable range.

What is desirable about this profile? The only thing he'll hurt you in a little is k/bb (which hasn't been below 2.0 since 2010 btw). He's pretty bankable at being solid to above average in all the other categories, and should collect a ton of holds. Lower K rate is probably made up for by more reliable innings volume. I wouldn't take him in the first round of the draft or anything, but that's pretty damn good value in round 4. (Dinger's pick of Shaw was as well)
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Looking to add one more SP that has a history of good health/durability. My top 4 pitchers. 1. Steven Mattz 2. Jameson Tallison 3. Garrett Richards 4. Lance Lynn. Rolling into the season with those as my top 4 guys is kinda scary given their injury history.
