Just was shocked. Sometimes there are nice players sitting on the waiver wire at the end of the year.

Yeah, personally, I like the ability for eliminated teams to pick up decent players that the contenders need to cut out of desperation, it's like a mini waiver draft. That said, it's too late to change the setting for this year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I'm going to change that tonight. Eliminated teams should be able to pounce on players dumped by teams trying to win a playoff series (RIP Neftali Feliz ).

Hopefully its something that could addressed in the offseason and if there is enough interest, maybe have a league vote to change it.

Eliminated teams should be able to pounce on players dumped by teams trying to win a playoff series (RIP Neftali Feliz ). I was contemplating dropping him in the DDL before the start of the week. The news reports on him are so vague, there is no hint or straightforward answer to when he'll be back. It's f***ing annoying, pardon my French. Knowing my luck, if I drop him today for another RP, he'll pitch like two times this weekend. As a non-playoff team, I'd definitely stash Neftali Feliz in the offseason. Could possibly sign somewhere as a closer.

Even if some minor league player gets called and hits waiver wire. It's not fair to rule out teams from adding that player.

Could possibly sign somewhere as a closer. I held until yesterday when reports came out that he wasn't responding well to treatment and Pittsburgh has no idea when he'll be back. It sucks because he's been great all year and is an easy keeper, but a playoff team can't really stash an injured reliever during their run. Yahoo lets you IR players with day-to-day injured status for hockey, and this capability should have been added for baseball years ago. For contenders, it also means a player you cut might not end up in your opponents' hands. Its a good thing. Yeah, it benefits playoff teams, but I don't think spittin actually intended to set it up this way, and I've never played in a dynasty that locked the rosters of eliminated teams. I don't see the harm in changing it now. It should be changed. Even if some minor league player gets called and hits waiver wire. It's not fair to rule out teams from adding that player. Very good point.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 In fact, no, I don't believe you can. At least not based on my DDL admin rights.

Almost every playoff teams ends up inevitably cutting a few keeper worthy players in order to make desperation adds or streams.

One of the worst calls I've ever seen in my life holy s***. Foul ball after it hit the dirt and two runs scored and none of the umps saw it and called the runs safe.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I'm pretty triggered right now. Even the Indians' broadcast was triggered. Since we know the umpires won't be held accountable - apparently none of them are adept with basic physics and geometry, not to mention the sound of the ball off the bat - this means that more plays need to be added to the reviewable list. Why exactly is this not a reviewable play? Why is catcher's interference not a reviewable play? MLB needs to get their s*** together, the less possible ******** from umpires the better.

It would be one of the easiest plays to review.
