BTS Community Moderator Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 No, it's unjustified because you took Byron Buxton even earlier. Beating you in 4 different deep leagues is just funny for me on a personal level. Please don't anger Boxy. I don't need him extra motivated this week. Thx.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Our team had one of the craziest weekends I have seen 9 HR 24 RBI OPS well over 1.000...to get us a 11-2 loss lol. Nice win Dinger, good luck in the playoffs buddy

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 That Mookie Betts kid is pretty good. At the time I was a bit upset cause Machado and JD went right before us. Betts was clearly the guy to go with but I thought last year might be more of a ceiling for him. This year he turns around and spikes his ISO, lowers his k rate, increases his hard hit%. Absolutely an incredible player.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Miguel Cabrera leaves his game with what looks like an arm/shoulder injury.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yeah, I can't compete with the likes of Cameron Rupp and Jorge Polanco. Cameron Rupp is good, and I don't even own Jorge Polanco.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Oh no! 1st place KingFiller just lost Choo for the season. That's a damn shame.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Oh no! 1st place KingFiller just lost Choo for the season. That's a damn shame. Speaking from experience, I can pretty much guarantee that Choo didn't do much to get them into first place.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That contract is not working out well for Texas.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 That contract is not working out well for Texas. It'll be interesting to see if they learn anything from Choo and Fielder.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 It'll be interesting to see if they learn anything from Choo and Fielder. Don't forget Elvis Andrus! He whose speed and defense declines by the year.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Don't forget Elvis Andrus! He whose speed and defense declines by the year. Wow, owning him in the LOD I thought he was having a good year with slightly below avg offense and a good amount of steals. Nope. Awful defense.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 False. Long term who would you say is more valuable?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Long term who would you say is more valuable? It's probably very close, but I personally wouldn't trade Duffy for Archer right now. They are close in many regards, but Duffy currently has the edge in: age, velo, SwStr%, K/BB, ERA by a wide margin, FIP by a good margin, WHIP, OPP avg, HR rate, WAR, WAR/IP, among others. Archer has a slight edge in Ks, GB rate (not necessarily a good thing) and xFIP (with xFIP doing some serious regression to his HR/FB rate). They have identical career ERAs, but Duffy is having a much better season this year, which is what matters the most. Any argument for Archer is largely based on 2015. If you've watched Duffy pitch, there's nothing bogus about his game. He has serious heat, he's a lefty, he has a killer changeup, and he's drastically improved his command. He has everything you want to see in a legit breakout. If you just posted his numbers without a name attached, you'd probably guess they belonged to Chris Sale, except he's actually been better than Sale across the board. And Sale, like Archer and Duffy, is also 27. Duffy also has the least mileage on his arm of the three, FWIW.

I offered Danny Duffy, Joc Pederson, Luke Weaver, Lance Lynn, my 1st and 2nd round picks for Jose Altuve in the FC. Glad now that it wasn't accepted. Having the least mileage on his arm is a huge plus moving forward I think. It'll be interesting to see if he continues at this level next season. I'd still take Sale over him obviously because of the track record and like you said it's pretty close between Archer and Duffy where you can even make the case Duffy is a more valuable asset moving forward. Archer is on a team friendly deal though until 2020 with two team options. If Duffy continues pitching like this, he'll get paid.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Yeah, I wonder why that is... Meh, he was bounced around a lot and wasn't as good as he is now. It's still a good thing going forward.

I would definitely still take Sale over both by a lot, but it says a lot that Duffy has been better than him half way through August.
