Yes, I'm taking this from Bluebird Banter, but I thought it was a fun exercise. As well, I know that the offseason isn't over and more transactions will be done. Anyway, it goes as follows:

If you could take one player off each team within each division and put him on the Jays, who would you pick? For example, of the 5 teams in the AL Central, which 5 players from each team would you want to roster on the Jays. Future value would be something to consider. Take into consideration the players already on the Jays roster.

Bonus question: If you had a choice of taking one player off of each NL Central team or 5 players off of the Chicago Cubs, which would you choose?

Does salary matter?

It didn't seem to matter much according to BBB, so no.

Also, if necessary, prospects can be included.

Cubs

Rizzo

Bryant

Arrieta

Heyward

Lester

NLC

Bryant

Carpenter

McCutchen

Votto

ugh... Lucroy?

You could make the argument that the Cubs are better:

Bryant = Bryant

Rizzo > Votto when factoring in age

Heyward > Carpenter, especially given age

Lester > Lucroy (I guess, you could argue either way)

Arrieta < McCutchen

Cardinals: Adam Wainwright

Cubs: Kris Bryant

Pirates: Andrew McCutchen

Brewers: Ryan Braun

Reds: Joey Votto

Then you trade one of Bau/EE

Russell > Heyward as an asset if you consider contract iimo

If you don't then Heyward

Considering the current threads on this board Im surprised the question wasn't "If you had a choice of banging one player off of each NL Central team or 5 players off of the Chicago Cubs, which would you bang?"

Wainwright...I guess. If Lynn wasn't injured, I'd take him here instead.

Braun or Lucroy

I actually think I'd take 5 Cubs.

just did it off the top of my head tbh

but Rizzo has that macho Harvey Specter allure

AL West

Angels - Trout

A's - Gray

Astros - Correa

M's - King Felix

Rangers - Hamels

I don't think any of this is even debatable tbh

NL East:

Mets: Noah Syndergaard (could choose any of their top 3 pitchers)

Nationals: Bryce Harper

Braves: Freddie Freeman

Marlins: Giancarlo Stanton

Phillies: Aaron Nola?

A rotation consisting of Syndergaard, Stroman, Nola, Happ, and Dickey/Estrada would be good. Freeman would replace the Smoakabello platoon. Harper is obvious. If one of EE/Bautista is traded, then Stanton fits on this team. If not, then picking Jose Fernandez is understandable.

Maybe Odor instead of Hamels? Only one I can see that is even defensible.

I'll take one Nomar Mazara, thx

Replace Hamels with Yu Darvish, and I completely agree.

You'd want JP Crawford

I'd probably take deGrom over Thor too but it's close enough
