John Axford to the A's. I thought he would've been a great buy low candidate.

I don't see him being much better than Delabar.

Orioles offer Davis 150/7

With numbers like that, Heyward should get 10 years.

Howard Berger reports the O's have just invited Chris Davis to do the Foxtrot.

Chris Davis is the ultimate risk-reward free agent.

7.0 WAR - 2013

0.8 WAR - 2014

5.6 WAR - 2015

2.4 WAR - projection

You're almost tempted to view his projection distribution as bimodal... I mean it feels like he's either going to be awesome or really suck, not something in between.

he has way more encouraging peripherals.

Steady K rate, high babip, highest GB % rate, declining HR rate. Walks will always be there.

Also not as whiny as Delaballs

edit: for $1 million

wtf Lacava/Atkins/Shapiro

You don't think they called? Oakland is a much better situation for him to rebuild his value and get a good contract next offseason.

So is there any conceivable package we could table for Fernandez that doesn't include Stroman?

Maybe Sanchez or Osuna + Pompey + Alford + Harris? I would give up pretty much anything and everything.

They've turned down far better packages. Realistically, if they are asking for Urias + De Leon ++, there is no package out there that will date them.

Apparently they asked for Urias + Seager + Joc, which is laughable. However, if that's the target, then perhaps they would accept Urias + Joc + a lesser piece, which is maybe an asking price we could approach with quantity.

Anyway, the Dodgers don't need Fernandez. Apparently Maeda is good friends with Iwakuma, so I don't think it's a total accident that the Dodgers locked up Iwakuma, and I definitely see them as the favourite to land Maeda now.

Stro + Travis + Osuna

Stro + Travis + Osuna

Ehhhh, that's pretty much cutting off your nose to spite your face. I love Fernandez, but with his health risks, there's a chance Stroman can outproduce him in WAR over the next 3 years.

Also, I don't think anyone outside of our fanbase values Travis very highly right now. He's unproven and has a major shoulder problem.

It's hard to fathom. Toronto doesn't really have that big sexy centerpiece unless they include Stroman.

Their other asks have been rumored to be...

Corbin + Swanson + 3 others.

Corbin + 5 others including 4 players that were in the MLB at some point last year.

They would probably demand for Stroman, ask for Pillar/Travis + Pompey + Osuna, as well as a couple of Tellez + Vlad + Alford etc.

Pillar + Travis + Osuna + Sanchez + Vlad + Alford

Maybe that's a "bulk" package that Miami would actually think about? Seems retarded though.

As a Fernandez fan and owner, I'm really glad that Arizona now lacks the pieces to acquire him. God that org is so barf-worthy.

IMO that's less idiotic than the lesser package they gave up for Miller. At least Fernandez is a legitimately elite arm.

Danny V is going to smack 30 bombs this year with a clear path to playing time.

If thats what it takes Miami can keep him. Thats just way too much talent to give up.

Is there any reason every team who is even a little bit interested in Maeda shouldn't bid the max posting fee for him? There's no risk, because you only have to pay the posting fee if you sign him.

Astros, Dodgers Discussing Andrew Miller With Yankees

By Jeff Todd | December 9, 2015 at 11:46am CST

The Astros and Dodgers are showing interest in Yankees lefty Andrew Miller, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports on Twitter. Those clubs have long seemed like possible fits, but the involvement of the latter is particularly notable given that the Dodgers had been lined up to acquire Aroldis Chapman from the Reds before his disturbing domestic violence allegations emerged.

Both Houston and L.A. were heavily involved in pursuing Miller last winter, with the Astros said to have made him the largest offer. But Miller chose New York, in part for family reasons, and signed a four-year, $36MM pact that includes equal, $9MM annual salaries.

Just one year into that contract, the remaining commitment looks quite appealing. Miller put up another outstanding season, throwing 61 2/3 frames of 2.04 ERA ball and racking up 14.6 K/9 against 2.9 BB/9. Those numbers are nearly exact matches for his breakout 2014 campaign, and there’s little question that he’d command an even larger commitment were he back on the open market this winter.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That guy is... not a source lmao

Yeah I cactually deleted my post upon realizing that

But I'd already been quoted twice LOL

Why the hell are the Yankees so insistent on trading Miller?

No idea but I don't mind him being out of the division LOL
