King Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Jesse Crain, Jean Machi, Emilio Bonifacio, Preston Guilmet Lester Oliveros (http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=9167&position=P) had good #s in AAA last year. I also like Phillies catcher Willians Astudillo, dat strikeout rate. AJ Morris (Pirates). Ji-Man Choi, 24 y/o and projects to be a league average bat.

Ji-Man Choi and Miguel Sano hit back to back dinger yesterday. Choi dinger was a monster for 440 ft CF
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) There's a few guys on this list that should at least warrant spring invites on a minor league contract, mainly RP arms. I like King's list. Edit: What's the deal on Eury Ang? LHP: Is slim pickings. Also, you'd think they'd take Tommy Hanson off that list. Nice work, BA. Edited November 12, 2015 by Spanky99

Vic Black is definitely worth a flier if he's healthy, as he has past success in the majors and throws 95+. Blake Wood is another 95+ arm with major league experience who I'd consider. I don't know much about him, but former Jays farmhand Robert Zarate came out of nowhere to put up great numbers as a lefty swingman in AAA Durham last year. He's pitching in Venezuela right now, maybe worth a look. On the position player side, former top prospect Sebastian Valle is just 25 and had a breakthrough season with the bat last year, so I'd like to see if that is real. I'd also like to bring back Kenny Wilson, as on-base skills and strong CF defense is always useful in AAA. Edited November 12, 2015 by Grant77
Save Dtieb Verified Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I could see the following in Buffalo Pete Orr (AAA) Tyler Pastornicky (AAA) Take a flier on Hak-Ju Lee (AAA), Tyson Gillies (AA). The pitching available is basically a lottery for all 30 teams. Just grab 2 or 3 and hope for the best. Carlos Marmol and Jesse Crain are probably the best bets.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 lol I see Justin Jackson the list as well....oh those days.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I see Justin Jackson the list as well....oh those days. I'm still somewhat intrigued by what Jackson can do as a pitcher. He was terrible last year but pitcher development can be pretty unpredictable. I'd still take a flyer on him as a relief prospect.

Maybe we can get a couple of years of Santos magic with the proper development.
