jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Who's a bigger train wreck tonight? FOX's World Series broadcast, or Tristan Thompson on the Cavs?
TRM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Sooo, does Volquez know about his old man yet, or not?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I'd be happy if he were to hold the Royals to one run, then the Mets could score off Herrera or Davis. Nah... W for dad would be a nice story.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Sooo, does Volquez know about his old man yet, or not? No man, they won't tell him till he's atleast out, pretty rough man.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Unbelievable. Imagine if they missed the homerun because FOX is f***ing around? As a fan of baseball I am outraged, can't even begin to imagine how Mets and Royals fans would feel. Kind of like a Jays fan felt seeing umpires employed by Major League Baseball and equipped with video replay award a home run to the opposing team despite fan interference?
TRM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 No man, they won't tell him till he's atleast out, pretty rough man. So the ESPN report was bogus then. Surreal
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 There's a report saying he found out before the game.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Probably a hysterical question, but here goes: If Fox can both hold up the game and be the only source of usable video replay footage, what does that make MLB? You don't think this arrangement gives Fox some influence in how the games play out, whether or directly or just through MLB pro-actively appeasing them?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 2 batters in and I already want to puke. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 So the ESPN report was bogus then. Surreal No man, it wasn't, it happened just prior to the game. They decided not to tell him. I'd be pissed.
TRM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 OK, let's assume he doesn't know. And you're a Mets fan, at the game, close to the dugout. This is your only opportunity ever to measurably impact your team winning, and it's in a f***ing World Series game... who here would CONSIDER yelling at him to tell him his dad passed, in order to get him out of the game and into the bullpen early.... Anyone...? Bueller?
TRM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 OK. I'll just go burn in hell for even thinking of that.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Pretty sure teams have in house production (like how you are able to watch highlights of untelevised games) and MLBN also does their own production for international viewers. The whole "We need Fox for replays" is just a s*** excuse.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 There's a report saying he found out before the game. Really, I hope he gets the W on this day. Mets can take the series, but...

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Volquez is throwing a ton of junk.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Really, I hope he gets the W on this day. Mets can take the series, but... f*** the royals, how do you know some mets fan isn't dying right now and this is his last chance to see a mets win in the WS?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Dunno man. Some things should just stay off limits. Volquez knows, so it's moot.
TRM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 To be clear, I wouldn't actually ever do it. Just a (semi-psychotic) interesting thought experiment.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Seeing d'Arnaud and Syndergaard influence this series positively is almost poetic in a way. We gifted them those two players, and now they're helping to defeat one of the most hated teams in baseball (by our standards).
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 To be clear, I wouldn't actually ever do it. Just a (semi-psychotic) interesting thought experiment. Don't worry, Volquez is no crybaby, remember?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 M! E! T! S! Mets! Mets! Mets!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Gordon had a bit of trouble getting the ball out of his glove, but he probably wouldn't have gotten Cespedes anyways.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 "HOW ABOUT THAT FROM KANSAS CITY..." *Pukes* ^^^ Mets score two runs that inning?
