I am interested to see what the opening day lineup will be vs. RHP. Where Saunders and Smoak will bat particularly.

 

I assume Gibby doesn't want Saunders and Smoak back to back.

The guy has defied the odds to get as far as he has. He hits a LO HR yesterday in ST and Buck yells out "I think we've found our lead off hitter". Throw up in mouth.

 

I think even Gibby will conclude after 6 weeks or so he is not the guy we need getting any extra ABs with this line up. In the meantime, most will be pissed every time we see the line up card.

 

FWIW Zaun was speaking truth yesterday on this subject.

I'm dumbfounded that no one in the Jays media has even floated the idea of Martin as the leadoff hitter. He has decent baserunning/speed and has the best OBP outside of the big 4. He would be the perfect solution until Travis returns, and on Dickey starts, use Saunders as the LO.

Pillar is super streaky...hope he starts out hot....although that might earn him too much rope when he cools off
