Really there should be another utility player there instead of Smoak.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Navarro pinch hitting was a good move... The umpire f***ed us over with some favorable calls to Wade Davis. A big thing too is that Cain should have been gunned down at the plate in the 8th by Tulo, but he made a terrible throw. Navaro and the call to Ben Revere was absolutely brutal. The only time in his stint here Revere flipped out. Just complete garbage umping that inning

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Biagini over Delabar and Ceciliani (maybe Lake) over Carrera Biagini has options, Delabar doesn't. Zeke is making the team for sure.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 He was a rule 5 pick... And no he isn't.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Biagini has options, Delabar doesn't. Zeke is making the team for sure. Delabar and Biagini are on the same boat. Biagini over Delabar is a no-brainer

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 They thought enough of Delabar to tender him this offseason. I think it's more likely that Venditte gets optioned than Delabar gets DFA'd.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Biagini can't be optioned THAT. IS. DOGG jeebus

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Delabar FIP 2014 - 5.59 2015 - 4.84 They didn't seem to mind when they tendered him a contract. Why lose an arm you like a bit when you can just option Venditte for a few weeks until someone gets hurt?

Why lose an arm you like a bit when you can just option Venditte for a few weeks until someone gets hurt? Have to think they will go with a second LHP. I'm not sure Delabar even gets picked off waivers for 800k.

I want to see new blood
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I like Delabar to some degree but much like Sanchez he's simply not reliable enough to come in with runners on base, he simply walks too many and needs a clean inning of work to be effective. Not sure he's that useful for us anymore.

Lefties can't hit Delabar though if that's part of the decision, he either Ks them or walks them. I've always thought he could come in against lefties as a backup option.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 4 TIMES IL HIM Pls Give it a rest no one cares anymore Everyone but you have moved on.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Biagini can't be optioned Talking to Dogg again, attaboy.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Rather have Biagini or Leon make the team than Delabar, and I've never even seen those two pitch before. Delabar's time is over. He never should have been tendered to begin with.
GOINSGOINSGONE Verified Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Let's be real boys. When was the last time Delabar came into a game that meant something and or if he did you felt confident. I'd rather go with a guy who maybe I've never seen but might be the flash in the pan that we need. My two cents...and Delabars "statistics"
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Rays made their rotation official today, so probables in 1st series: Stroman v Archer Dickey v Smyly Sanchez v Odorizzi Happ v Moore Rays rotation is very good.

I'll give you Archer but smiley and odoreasy are average not good. Both have fips close to 4. We would never say that about a Jays pitcher with similar stats As for Moore it's not 2013 he has been horrible for quite some time
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Jose Bautista on @MLBNetwork: "We are a team of generals and commanders ... not soldiers." That's fine and dandy but you can't go to war without any soldiers.

Odorizzi is good, and Moore is pitching really well in this spring training. Alex Cobb and Blake Snell is to much
