Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 In that pic, if Choo wanted to do it intentionally, he probably would have reached in a bit more still being in the box, he wasn't even extended out of the box. Sadly that was all on Martin. he can't be too obvious, or it will be ruled interference
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Didn't look intentional to me. I've seen Choo do that stretch out to adjust his elbow pad plenty of times in other games. At the end of the day it's all on Martin, and at least he didn't have to pay dearly for his mistake. I'm sure he'll make sure never to throw the ball back that casually in key situations again.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 he can't be too obvious, or it will be ruled interference There does seem to be a strange coincidence that it happened with a guy on third, but still idk... Kinda reminds me though, for some of you hardcores with a good memory. I was watching a Blue Jays game (not too long ago 2months max) and I think it was Bautista in the box or maybe JD, they were extending their arm out over the plate pre-pitch before the catcher threw it back to the pitcher and twice the catcher thought better of forcing a throw to the pitcher until the arm came down, he finally threw it back and then suspiciously looked at the batter. Anyone remember this? To me it looked like the catcher thought it was intentional, so maybe it's one of those "cheap trick" kind of plays that don't happen all the time but the vets know about?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 not that farfetched.... look at Martin's position behind the plate, he's away from Choo. he's throws back to the pitcher the same way each time, so why didn't he hit Choo's bat in a previous at bat? what changed here.... did Choo move the bat closer or did Martin change his throw angle? my bet is on the former Hmmm. Sounds like a case for Jesse Ventura and "Conspiracy Theory" episode. Was this a pre-set play by the Rangers rehearsed by Choo and Odor to score a runner from 3B, pulled off to perfection? I don't think so.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Awesome avatar. Totally. You know things are going well when this board even loves Navarro. Sort of.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 He did the same to his mother and posted a series of pictures of it happening on Instagram. I love that guy. Revere is a funny unique guy. Really humble and seems like a genuine nice fellow. The interview Admin posted of him talking to MLB for 3.5 mins after the game is actually hilarious.

art_vandelay275 Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqIURSjPZco I can't stand Bayless nor Stephen A; pompous, one of those reports thinks that sports fans tune into sports to listen/watch them rather than the athletes... But finally someone is linking Dyson's comments with the USA Today's study. Norris words says it all “I think it's a culture shock,'' Norris said. “This is America's game. This is America's pastime, and over the last 10-15 years we've seen a very big world influence in this game, which we as a union and as players appreciate. We're opening this game to everyone that can play. However, if you're going to come into our country and make our American dollars, you need to respect a game that has been here for over a hundred years, and I think sometimes that can be misconstrued. There are some players that have antics, that have done things over the years that we don't necessarily agree with. “I understand you want to say it's a cultural thing or an upbringing thing. But by the time you get to the big leagues, you better have a pretty good understanding of what this league is and how long it's been around.''
