No. Never said that. I said 50 pitches for 3 innings is not a game 5 caliber start. Same goes for Hamels.

Pitching on short rest a little over a month into his season, probably for the first time as well. Just needs to figure out what he can do to get hitters out

 

He's not pitching on short rest. This is his regular 4 days rest.

Seriously? You don't think pitch count is important?

 

Pitch count is very important to determine if a pitcher can go 6-7 innings (and thus give you a quality start). Obviously it's not the only factor that determines a quality start (and I never said that), but a very important factor.
