nextyear Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 It sounds like the Bringer of Rain (Donaldson) is feeling fine and can still hit the ball hard.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Sorry Sammy I have a responsibility to the board. Plus RJF put a guarantee on his thread. I understand.... As long as you understand that you have to enforce the RJF leaving if he looses lol
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 At least I won't have to watch Justin "Juan Francisco" Smoak flail pathetically at breaking balls and strike out with runners on today.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 At least I won't have to watch Justin "Juan Francisco" Smoak flail pathetically at breaking balls and strike out with runners on today. Pretty sweet to get to watch Cola do it instead.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Pretty sweet to get to watch Cola do it instead. He is not near as frustrating to watch as smoak, at least cola can hit breaking balls. Cola at least has better at bats, smoak looks lost.
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Pretty sweet to get to watch Cola do it instead. Good point, since statistically their strikeout rates are almost identical: 26.7% for Colabello - http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=13051&position=1B/OF 26.5% for Smoak - http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=9054&position=1B However, Colabello wRC+ is higher at 142 versus 105 for Smoak. I no longer mind having Colabello at 1ST.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 He is not near as frustrating to watch as smoak, at least cola can hit breaking balls. Ya just can't catch up to fastballs
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Ya just can't catch up to fastballs He has gotten plenty of hits off fastballs.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 He is not near as frustrating to watch as smoak, at least cola can hit breaking balls. Cola at least has better at bats, smoak looks lost. Just yanking your chain. Cola is the better choice against Hamels. I hope he hits multiple homeruns.
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 If the Blue Jays win today then I think they will win the series in 3 straight.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 He has gotten plenty of hits off fastballs. Not in the past month
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Not in the past month Colabello's numbers have been more than decent since September 1st with a wRC+ 148 - http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=13051&position=1B/OF&type=&gds=2015-09-01&gde=2015-10-04&season=
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Just yanking your chain. Cola is the better choice against Hamels. I hope he hits multiple homeruns. ^ this. The Smoak hate is unwarranted over K's considering Cola's K rate is the same and he benefits from a BABIP # that I don't think is real. He can go the other way on the ground which Smoak never seems to be able to do. Cola in today against Hamels is the right call even though we lose some on D.

intrigid Verified Member Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Dunno I think roof closed for day games is more "playoffey" than open. Then again I'm stuck with audio+gameday so not like my opinion even counts for 1.
