Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 On topic, CC doing this right now with the playoffs just beginning seems like an extremely courageous thing to do. That, or his family just bet against the Yankees and scheduled the intervention months ago. If they bet against the Yankees, they'd be better off forcing him to pitch! HEYO!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Welcome back btw, Grant. I thought the mantids must have finally gotten you last season. Good to see you survived another year. Three tuba blasts for your return! http://forums.chisham.com/images/smilies/tuba.gifhttp://forums.chisham.com/images/smilies/tuba.gifhttp://forums.chisham.com/images/smilies/tuba.gif Best emoticon ever lol
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I didn't call diabetes anything. I didn't take a position. I just cut and pasted another view from a reputable source. If you speak for the entire "scientific community" with unanimity on this subject of alcoholism and mislabeling i'd be very surprised. Fair enough, I wasn't sure. I never said I speak for the scientific community, but I interact with people with intimate knowledge on this subject on a fairly regular basis and the misuse of the word disease comes up sometimes. A fellow band member is actually the head of addiction services here in the Soo. The idea that alcoholics aren't born with a predisposition to addiction (ie. a disorder) and can 'catch' the condition is never given any serious consideration.

Harvey_Specter Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Hey guys, Join me in wishing CC best wishes in his battle with Alcohol. Its a tough battle and I know we all hope he wins this one. Something doesn't add up. I think it would be more normal to complete the playoffs before rehab. I bet he did something bad and this was some sort of deal to keep his family. Just a guess. Anyway, here's an article which offers more insight on this story and his benders: http://nypost.com/2015/10/06/the-weekend-long-bender-behind-cc-sabathias-rehab-stay/
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Oh well I guess this a non issue now. Suck it Yankees!
