metafour Verified Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Eric Pardinho got bombed by the Rays. On the flipside, Shane Baz didn't fare a whole lot better in the first inning.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Thu, Aug 30 According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the agents for White Sox top prospect Eloy Jimenez are considering filing a grievance over his lack of a promotion to the majors. Advice: "How can you say with a straight face this guy needs to work on anything?," Paul Kinzer, the president of Rep1 baseball agency, told Heyman. "What’s he need to work on?" It's a fair point, as Jimenez has posted an incredible .365/.406/.604 batting line with 11 home runs and 32 RBI in 51 games at Triple-A Charlotte, after slashing .317/.368/.556 with 10 homers and 42 RBI in 53 games for Double-A Birmingham. White Sox player development director Chris Getz said earlier this month that the 21-year-old was "really close" to being called up, but it obviously hasn't happened yet. Hit another Dinger last night. Tell him to keep crying about it. This is a business. Want to blame someone blame the people who negotiated the CBA.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Author Posted September 1, 2018 Jackson McClelland hit 101 in New Hampshire tonight.

Both him and Jon Harris should be in AAA next season. Also Forrest Wall is an interesting prospect : He hit .206/.289/.359 in 46 games in Hartford but ever since coming to New Hampshire he's hit .265/.351/.376 in 32 games. 22 year old CF prospect.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Cal? Cal Stevenson, CF lead off hitter for Bluefield. I know he's a solid year older than the average age in his league, but the numbers he's put this year are impressive.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 That's a pretty awful slash line. And Zeuch has a terrible K/9 of 6.08 in AA. What's he going to have in the majors? 4.5?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 And Zeuch has a terrible K/9 of 6.08 in AA. What's he going to have in the majors? 4.5? Zeuch isn't about the K9. Seems to have decent command of the strike zone with heavy sinking action. It will interesting to see what an MLB defence will do behind him.

It will interesting to see what an MLB defence will do behind him. In the majors, I'm guessing his would be in the 5's or lower. I just don't see many successful SPs in the majors with K/9 that low? https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2018&month=0&season1=2018&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=9,a

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 He's a tall Matt Leake Mike Leake Anyways, Zeuch has really solid stuff and is just an adjustment away from getting enough K's to succeed in the majors. I wouldn't give up on him as a starter just yet
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 He's a tall Matt Leake Yeah, this is what I see if things work out for Zeuch.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Yeah, this is what I see if things work out for Zeuch. If he was an Oriole, Zook would probably get slapped with a 55 FV.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Zeuch is Jake Westbrook Light
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 The Josh James era has begun. Dude was hitting 100/101 with regularity in his last few starts at AAA. I imagine he's the type to struggle immensely in the MLB for the first little while - and he may have to reel in that fastball a bit in order to command it better - but the upside is tremendous. Dominant late-inning relief pitcher is the floor here, imo.

It's a possibility I suppose. I wonder if the Cleveland connections rears it's head again and Sandy Alomar Jr shows up. He was one of the final 4 in consideration when Farrel was hired, and was also on the Cubs and Red Sox radar in 2011.
