I want want to hear the French commentary when he hits homeruns. Nothing else matters.

tom: I know he’s only 17, but is Wander Franco a guy you see in the majors at 19, like a Juan Soto. What’s his power ceiling?

Keith Law: Yes. 25+ homer guy. I’ll be shocked if he is still on the minors on the day he turns 20, barring injury.

Kid's numbers are just silly. How does a 17-year old have a 6% K-rate and 0.250 ISO in pro ball?

It was basically a line drive hit so hard it was barely on the way down as it reached the billboard signs behind the left field wall. Not sure the exit velocity but would not be surprised if it was close to 118-120mph.

My god Vlad's AAA numbers are bananas. 8 walks, 2 strikeouts, and ISOing 300+. At this point it will be surprising if he's not immediately one of the best hitters in the majors as soon as he's promoted.

Vlad is Juan Soto with much more power.

I wonder if he'll be the miraculous .400 MLB hitter the league has been waiting for.

Has Vlad slimmed down a bit or are the Bisons colours just a bit more flattering on him?

I paid $20 for a pair in the 4th row right at 3B. Got a nice view of both Vladdy and Riley at 3B. He looks lazy leading up to plays (even distracted at times) but his reactions and feet are so much better than I expected. Very natural Using my good ole SSS eye test I'd say he is going to be able to stick at 3B for a solid few years .

Austin Riley's weight loss has been quite the success story. He is going to be a defensive star from my eye test. Of course the 5 k's at the plate were not a good showing of his bat skills.

Riley's struck out in 8 of his last 9 PA's. Maybe he shared some weight loss tips with Vlad.

Vlad just hit a goddamn rocket HR.

I heard people talk about the sound of the ball off his bat. I didn't understand the distinction until now. Holy s***.

Anyway he gets the call, at this point its just ridiculous.

It would be an awful decision to call him up but they probably will in September.

Nope. Cause the Jays already knows he's leaving as an FA.

Patience is a virtue and all that, but i'd love to see what kind of damage he can do in the big leagues for a month.

He deserves to be up but I'd be very disappointed if the front office ends up doing that. Who cares about the optics. Joe Public hates Shapiro anyway and no one player will ever be a draw in baseball. It's not like calling Vlad up is going to change anything.

Vlad will be up in September as a reward for his god-like season. He’ll be back in AAA to start next year to ensure the extra year of control and then he’ll be up to stay. The people who don’t want to see him this September are misguided IMO. We can have our cake and eat it too.

Sign him to a 7 year deal if he's unwilling to sign away any of his FA years. A 7 year deal means he can start with the team in 2019 and his contract will end after 2025. If he doesn't sign that contract and they wait to call him up next May, then he'd be a FA after 2025 anyway, so maybe there's some incentive for him to sign if he wants to reach the Majors at 19 (next month).
