Yeah other than Vladdy, I don't see a superstar prospect in the system. Maybe some players who turn out to be good or solid, maybe even one that shocks and becomes a lot better than they project to be, but Vladdy is probably the best hitting prospect the Jays have had since Delgado (unless I'm forgetting someone).

 

Vernon Wells? Alex Rios? Travis Snider? Franklin Barrett?

 

I probably missed a lot, but those were at least top 50 guys. Note that Im not saying Vlad Jr. can't be better than them.

Tellez is underrated because of his position. .310/.404/.559 vs RHP this season. The chubby guy can hit

 

And he's dropped about 30 pounds.

I still believe in Anthony Alford, he had a bad injury riddled season. He has what it takes to be a leadoff hitter and a good one.

 

 

Since returning from a concussion in June, he was hitting close to the level he did last season. I wonder how he does in the AFL. Just needs a good off season of training and rest and he should be fine.

Vladdy Jr. a good runner? I just noticed he has 15 SB

 

Perhaps a good runner like Encarnacion, but it's doubtful that he'll have above average speed in his 20's.

Florida Auto Exchange Stadium announcement is set for September 26th. I expect that improvements are on their way for next Spring.

Shapiro said there was nothing new on that front to Lott. Whatever the changes are I expect there to be a pretty big improvement since the Jays are obviously very big on player development.

and he wants the sport science and mental conditioning end to stay in Florida so I figure the biggest improvements will be in the offices.

Did they call the Jays a bottom 10 farm and you took exception to it?

Say what you want, but my preseason opinion was absolutely right in hindsight.

 

They were actually referencing outdated reports and calling Davidi a Rogers shill.

I don't remember you saying that they don't have an impact player in the system.

What I was referring to was my statement that our organizational ranking was far too low.

Vlad will help rankings now as he might be the impact guy the system was lacking...but it's still a bottom 10 system.

I'm still not buying it. We've got 9, maybe 10 guys who would rank in the top 150 on any given list. There's just too much depth to rank that low.

Was this ever in question? I thought after last years trade deadline we had one of the worst systems out there. Bottom 10 seems very accurate and I would even believe bottom 5.
